The Cruz ads I've seen this week are hitting Colin on the boys in girls sports

The most effective Cruz ad I think is the one with the mother of a girl who was raped and murdered by an illegal.

yeah its not great

But the Democrats across the state are extremely disjointed because there are two Democrat parties 1 is the old school white old money oil real estate
and in that BlueDogs There's a subset of Hispanics and blacks who they don't get along with each other

then there's the progressive alphabet people

They'll make a better run in 26 than they have and they might win a statewide race But if they do it will because the Republican nominee fricks it up

which all the statewide nominees could likely change is there as a shuffling of the Republican deck

but its comin'

Yea I believe Colin Allred will send Cruz back home to his humble hacienda in Houston

No chance. Not in a presidential election year.

Are you familiar with Texas' abortion laws? My sister is a nurse in labor and delivery at a public hospital here in DFW and she insists that doctors won't perform truly medically necessary abortions even in extreme cases. I personally don't buy it, and it's difficult to argue with her because I don't see it. I also haven't really read up on the way Texas handles medically emergent situations like those. I just don't believe any of that is logical and can't allow myself to believe that even a dead fetus can't be removed for the woman's health.

I do think that these sort of things are taking place but not in the way that the very handful of stories that have made the news portray

What should be the takeaway if you look at this objectively is how few times an abortion is actually considered outside the early window in which it is still allowed in Texas

I think some work needs to be done with a late-term medically necessitated abortion but it's not that hard to work out nothing like the pro-abort sky screamers act as if it is

It plays during the Houston morning news. It’s pretty strong. “My daughter’s body was found in a creek bed with her pants around her ankles…” Then it shows a devious looking Allred and how he supports the open border.

Colin isn't a Democratic ideologue in the mold of Harris, Sanders, Beto or even Tim Walz

Well his commercials are convincing to stupid people.

Ohh no I've seen it
I know who did that ad I'm just saying I'm surprised I've not seen it more

Mostly when I see the ads when I'm watching something sports-related and I see Collins ads and I'm just saying as of late the Cruz ads have been the boys in girls sports but I know the ads are talking about

I think Trump wins by 9% in Texas & Cruz by 6-7%.

To add to my last comment..

I think covid interstate migration favored Texas some. They need hispanics to keep trending red to keep the state before the millennials in Dallas/Austin turn it blue

IF it is a red wave like I think it could be if the polls are off again like the past two cycles…

I can see Trump win TX & FL both by 10-12%, Pa, Wi, Mi by 3-5%, Ga, Az, Nc by 5%

Cruz just has a likeability issue with people that he can't seem to get past.

Cruz is almost as polarizing as Trump so he’s always going to motivate Dems to vote and be in close races for the rest of his political career. But he’s not going to lose in 2024. This is classic red state poll tightening to increase democrat enthusiasm.

He's been elected three times and will be elected for a fourth.

Stupid rich suburban women will whine about him, but he's still going to win. I'd say he got past it.

Winning by 5% is scary to me that it is that slim. Darn Houston, SA, Austin, Dallas about to control our senate seats.

It's only that close because Cruz is not a very likeable candidate.

Abbott on the other hand won by over 10%.

Well, let's start...

First, he's been elected twice, and most likely will be a third. The second was much closer than it should have been, and the third may be even closer.

He has not gotten past his likeability issues. He has considerably underperformed other Republicans in state wide races since he was elected. Just look at Cornyn's election in 2020. He won by 10% against a well funded candidate. Dan Patrick ran against a popular former Lt. Gov., and won by 10%. You may be able to call Cornyn a RINO, but you sure can't call Patrick that.

Cruz is just not as popular in Texas as he is on this board. For some reason, people just don't like him. I like him, and support him, but he has a definite problem that will most likely catch up with him if he doesn't fix it.
