If Gop retains Senate? You know he damn sure isn't gonna let Biden possibly pick his seat. There have been rumors for a while he was considering retiring....:Deep thoughts, Amy Coney Barrett:

Absolutely, and then the sky screamers will be out because "you can't nominate someone before a presidential election" insanity

It will be glorious to watch

Biden 2020?

Interestingly enough, Biden was the SJC Chair in 1991 during Thomas' hearing.

Assumption is that Slow Joe runs in 2020.

Joe MIGHT have won in 2016 because he was strong with the types of voters Trump got to cross over. He won’t win in 2020 after 4 years of winning by Trump.

Biden will be 78 years old in 2020. Trump is no spring chicken, but electing someone how will finish their first term at 82 years old is a stretch. Dems will definitely go younger here.

The Dems have serious bench problems.

Their big candidates are old as frick (Hillary, Biden, Bernie, Lieawatha) or young lightweight ethnic candidates (Booker, Kamala, etc).

This is the result of the 1994 and 2010 wave elections plus the Clintons having control of the DNC for about 25 years.

Biden is now the author of all the OFA emails. The last one I got from OFA was touting how we need to help elect 6 people running for state atty general. I can't remember their names (one is named January). But why are Dems sending out fund raising letters for people running for state atty general?

They’re broke and the current Soros plan is to take over AG positions to ignore the crimes of their favored groups while weaponizing the states against Trump.

Ideal situation is Trump is re-elected and Clarence Thomas retires soon after.

They have shifted so far left, I have a hard time believing a crusty old white guy could even get through the Dem primary.

Big time. Fauxcahontas will be 71/72 in 2020, Bernie will be 79, Hillary 72.

Harris will be 55 and Booker will be 51. But do they have enough broad appeal?

I don’t see the coalition for Dems being there regardless of the candidate.

Their path to victory pretty much requires taking about 40 EVs from Trump while not losing any of Hillary’s states.

They would have to flip some combination of Wisconsin (10), Ohio (18), Michigan (16), Pennsylvania (20), and Florida (29).

Florida is doable given the Puerto Rican influx. The rest of those states are problems because their appeal to working class whites isn’t going to work.

Sure.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg ( born Joan Ruth Bader, March 15, 1933) is 85.
Stephen Gerald Breyer (born August 15, 1938) is 80.
Clarence Thomas (born June 23, 1948) is 70.
Samuel Anthony Alito Jr. (born April 1, 1950) is 68.
Sonia Maria Sotomayor (born June 25, 1954) Is 64.
Chief Justice John Glover Roberts Jr. (born January 27, 1955) is 63.
Elena Kagan (born April 28, 1960) is 58.
Neil McGill Gorsuch (born August 29, 1967) is 51.
Soon to be Justice Brett Michael Kavanaugh (born February 12, 1965) is 53.
Anything for a Cajun angel.

Edit. Amy Coney Barrett (born 1972) is 46.

Fwiw Laura Ingraham who clerked for and is still very close to Thomas, said he is considering retiring.

It would be amazing if he decides to retire next summer
