Depends what you mean. He grew up a member of a Presbyterian church. He has also stated that he doesn’t ask God for forgiveness.

I don’t base my vote on either of those things.

you think God would work through him the way he does, and protect him from his enemies, both at home and abroad, if he and Trump didnt have a very special relationship?

the man has been under attack, non stop, for 4 years, from dark and powerful enemies, from pure evil, yet has come out unscathed. Divine providence is the only rational explanation for that.

By Christian tradition he is unsaved. When asked in an interview “Have you asked Jesus for forgiveness for sin?” I think it was on TBN or something before his election.

He replied “I try to live in such a way that I don’t have to ask for forgiveness.”

I think Trump is a great president, and he is an ally to religious rights in this country. But he himself doesn’t have a relationship with Jesus if he has not repented since that interview.

Romans is clear. ALL have sinned and fallen short.

Again. I still love my orange man.

My take on this is Trump isn’t but he knows how important church and family is to the greatness of this country.

Trump and Christians are like the big kid and the kid who gets picked on. The kid who gets picked on is friends with the big kid for protection from the bully. It’s why the media can’t shake Trump’s Christian support no matter how hard they try. Christians know Trump is the one person who will stand up for them and offer them protection from an increasingly secular and evil media and democrat party. No one cares if Trump isn’t really a religious person. He protects the church.

No, and it's his most admirable quality (or, more accurately, lack thereof).

Cultural Christian at best. I don't think he's ever claimed to be serious about his faith.

Secular and subjective morality brought about the bloodiest, most genocide filled century in human history.

But please tell me more about your wishy washy unstable worldview.

He can work through people who aren't His followers. Rahab and Cyrus are two examples.

I wouldn't say he is personally "religious".

But I would say he is very respectful of religion.

This is correct.

He literally used Rome to destroy Jerusalem in judgement for rejecting Jesus. Just as Jesus prophesied.

God has used pagans throughout history for his will. It’s called sovereignty.

He likely has no interest in organized religion, he's seen how easily they fall into corruption and selfishness and he has no tolerance for that, but he clearly has a very special relationship with our Lord. and its mutual, God knows Trump is the only one who can save his blessed nation, we are His best and chosen few, and he sent Trump to deliver us from satans son Obama.

When Trump says he lives a way where he doesnt have to ask for forgiveness is like two buddies razzin each other, it's all in good fun.

I had never seen that clip until I watched the American Gospel documentary (I think the second one). Cringe worthy for a Presbyterian.

But I agree re voting, all things being equal.

Eta: I do remember thinking, well Trump just admitted to something that most people actually believe or at least live as though they do.

No he isn’t. He’s just pandering to people who he thinks will vote for him
