2 things
1. Don't believe (and repost) every stupid thing you see on X
2. Complete collapse of China would NOT be a good thing for the U.S.

There’s only 1 and the powers that be have known it for a very long time.

Bessent is coming out with this statement of surrender?
Where did he say this? Quote in OP does not suggest this. It could easily mean Chinas situation is unsustainable and he sees them coming to the table

2 Things:
1. Are you denying Scott Bessent made this statement that is being reported by every news outlet and was first reported by Bloomberg?
2. I never said complete collapse of China would be a good thing. Bessent calling the China situation unsustainable because his Wallstreet buddies are complaining to him after the market sold off 1000 points yesterday is also not a good thing. Xi Jinping is currently sitting back laughing his arse off right now. We look weak

Is the endgoal not to de-escalate and get a deal done or what? Do yall think we are going to just 245% tariff them until the end of time?

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I'm referring to you believing that China was "on the verge of collapse" because you no doubt read it on X or here. And have literally no ability to think of things that don't exist in either place.

I doubt he is laughing so much as he is scratching his head and thinking that all of this is a huge waste of time

just because a tweet says BREAKING, doesn't mean its actually news

I will state... I don't trust any of these video's we see of China being impacted [though I hope they are true]. One of the things I've been pleased with, this time around, is Trump seems to hold course. You can't trust anything from China.
And Trump is fighting against the opposition party and the MSM, which is just as bad, and are both right now are in China's pocket, because OMB.
I want to see our country not getting abused on the world stage. We've been everyone's policeman and everyone's bank all of my life.

Chinese Plastics Factories Face Mass Closure As US Ethane Supply Evaporates
quote:
The world’s dominant plastics manufacturer gets almost all its ethane, a petrochemical feedstock that is also a component of natural gas, from the US. But eye-watering tariffs on American goods mean plants that cannot process substitute raw materials will bleed money; their only alternative is to mothball production for the near (or not so near) future.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told investors in a closed-door meeting Tuesday he expects “there will be a de-escalation” in President Donald Trump’s trade war with China in the “very near future,” a person in the room told CNBC.
“The next steps with China are, no one thinks the current status quo is sustainable” with tariff rates at their current levels, Bessent said at a private investor summit in Washington, D.C., hosted by JPMorgan Chase.
Stocks, already recovering from the prior day’s sell off, soared higher after Bessent’s remarks were first reported.
Bessent said he believes that the prospect of de-escalation between the economic superpowers “should give the world, the markets, a sigh of relief,” according to the person in the room.
Bessent also insisted that, despite the U.S. ratcheting up tariffs on Chinese imports to 145% and China retaliating with 125% duties on American goods, the goal of Trump’s policy “isn’t to decouple.”
The U.S. Cabinet secretary noted that negotiating with China is likely to be “a slog.” But neither side “thinks the status quo is sustainable,” Bessent added.
This is breaking news. Please check back for updates.

What’s your deal with China? You’re always posting weird articles about chinas dominance over the US.

Why is he saying such important things behind closed doors to private investors?

If that statement is correct why is our Treasury Secretary coming out with a statement of surrender saying he expects descalation and the situation with China is unsustainable. I tell you why, because his WallStreet buddies want to hear it. China will see this as weakness and will be less inclined to negotiate now
