Is China cutting off the supply chain on purpose? What exactly is going on?

I’m willing to take a little short-term turbulence to get long-term onshoring of high-end manufacturing back.

My local Walmart and Sams Club are pretty thin. I fear we will have actual issues soon because of supply chain.

I haven’t looked into it recently but last time I did I understood it as backed up in ports which is not allowing distribution and resuply.

Meat was affected big awhile back because of Covid positivy in farms.

Yeah...the USA and the world are more likely to spread their cheeks for China to get them back to cranking out their substandard shite than ramp up their own domestic production.

Just wait until Evergrande collapses here in a few days

The Chinese are going to semi-nationalize it, but the effects will be felt worldwide to the economy and world's supply chains

It’s not just parts.

Apparently there are shortages on hats.

Yes, fricking baseball caps. My local sports stores are having trouble finding stock to print for my softball team fan wear.

That’s not a critical item, but goes to show how widespread it’s become.

Hmmm Wasn't it reported that 70-80 container ships waiting off the coast of Cali to be unloaded?

I work in the restaurant industry. You’d be surprised at the amount of stuff we struggle to keep on hand. ToGo boxes, ToGo cups, steak sauces, it just doesn’t stop. Suppliers are prioritizing big retailers first before anyone else

I’m not passing judgment one way or the other until I listen to IBF explain to me how this is actually a good thing.

Building a type of plant I can't disclose which isn't going to be up on schedule due to missing and delayed machine parts.

none of it matters, until liberals can't get a controller for their Sony ps to play call of duty.

Someone on TD told me that like 99% of car computer chips are made in Tiawan. And there is a possibility that China will take Taiwan.

WWIII China will take over the world and the USA won't even be able to start their cars.

No, because China likes cash too. My job is strongly connected to the supply lines and I can tell you exactly what is happening: it’s Gavin Newsom and Eric Garcetti. 40% of our products are shipped into California and then distributed nationwide. Between Covid regulations and the fact people aren’t coming back to work due to Covid regulations so they can’t unload the container ships as quickly as needed.

There are now 50-90 container ships off the coast of California right now where it may be another six weeks plus until they’re unloaded. In my industry, Gavin Newsom is the talk of the town, and basically every call in the last week almost all of my customers are bitching he wasn’t recalled, and most of them don’t live in California. While Xi is happy with Newsom in other regards, I’m betting he’s pissed since they need those ships back as well.

This. I own a business very much dependent on the fricking Chinese and we’re struggling because I can’t get the things I need anymore to compete with the big box stores without paying retail prices. They’re absolutely trying to squeeze small business to the point of collapse.

Small business (middle class) has been the target since the shutdowns. This is all per plan.

The poor are beholden to the government for handouts.

The elite control the government.

The middle clss is in the way of the main objective of the elite marxists.

I’m fortunate that my business is what’s called a TERO business in the native community. I have huge, active contracts, that can’t be broken according to tribal law.

99% of Americans are not as fortunate. It’s horrible what has happened to my competitors.

Hopefully people will finally understand that it isn’t smart to have your entire manufacturing base inside of an enemy nation. But I doubt it.

great post, and how we knew before hand that newsom was not going to be recalled

whomever is pulling newsom’s strings is hurting china as well, china needs dollars to purchase what they import. stifling trade is fricking them up as well

Yes. China would collapse itself to kill the USA

They don't play by our rules. The gov will simply take over the business and use force labor
