Is anyone else confused by Tucker Carlson’s actual political alignment?

He said he's always voted Republican
But he was actually a registered Democrat for over a decade, and apparently all of his kids are registered Democrats too.
If he's the voice of modern conservatism, how do you square his entire family being registered with the blue team?
Are we sure he isn't just a mainstream media actor grifting the right
Did he secretly raise a house full of liberals while telling everyone else how to live?

He's just a guy making a buck by talking. I'm not sure he has ever had steadfast principles. He gets an audience by saying shite people want to hear. Sometimes he says what you want to hear, sometimes he says the opposite. It's not rooted in anything from what I can tell.
