Oh no, Mr. Iraq! PLEEEEEEEEASE don't throw us into (or "out of", in this instance) that briar patch!

Before leaving we should assemble all the equipment we will not be taking back with us at a base or embassy, then once everyone is out we bomb the fricking shite out of the place to the point where there's literally only a steaming hole left.

Cool. GTFO there. Now we have political cover for doing so.

We could. And let the Sectarian slaughter begin? Iraqi Sunnis must know what will happen. There is no 'Iraq' per se; those days are over. Of course, the real Trump strategy is to take out the Islamist Regime in Iran...so...with that possibility being more possible now than in the last 40 years...let the strategist figure it out.

IMO, get out of the South and move to the Kurdish North.

LMAO! We aren't implimenting any new weapons systems/hardware because of our presence in Iraq. Our withdrawal will do nothing to effect any of the stocks you mentioned one way or another.

"Iraqi PM says,"Suleimani was his guest in Iraq."

That's like you saying, "but he was a guest in my house" when the feds break through the door of your home to take out the mafia thug threatening your family over money you owe because you know the bigger picture is the mafia will send a bunch of bigger goons next time who won't hesitate to wreck your shite.

Iraq is afraid of Iran. They will now be a puppet of Iran, and I guess that's preferable to Iraq being mired in perpetual explosions as Iran targets Americans there.

We lost 5,000 US soldiers in an ill advised war in Iraq started by Bush and Cheney, with 10’s of thousand of troops maimed and damaged, and now are about to get kicked out and Iran will own Iraq in 2 years. Hence, we will have lost everything we fought for. While Trump May get a short term saber rattle bump, the geo-political middle eastern future interests in the ME will diminish.

Or we could just leave

It's probably the right move, just pull out and Trump can tell the Dim Resistance he's not trying to escalate the conflict he's trying to prevent the unnecessary loss of American lives.

And if it was a Democrat President doing it, you would have no problem with it.

The Iraqi resolution specifically calls for ending an agreement in which Washington sent troops to Iraq more than four years ago to help in the fight against the Islamic State group. The resolution was backed by most Shiite members of parliament, who hold a majority of seats. Many Sunni and Kurdish legislators did not show up for the session, apparently because they oppose abolishing the deal.

Why would the Sunnis want the forces that fight ISIS to stay? That's odd.

Right. I'm sure Soleimani was just there to talk about grandkids and see a soccer game amidst the militia's attacks on our embassy.

Since when did Iraq and Iran become so chummy?

Seriously is there any reason to not leave right now? They’ve given us the green light.

It’s like the lame psycho girlfriend who you’ve been dreading to break up with calling you and telling you she doesn’t think it’s gonna work out.
