I suppose the IRGC is hiding amongst the civilians just like their baby brother Hamas.

What was your stance when Biden sent troops to Ukraine. It’s never reported, but he sent them

Iran maintains two parallel military structures to prevent coups and balance power: the Artesh (regular army) and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Artesh: The conventional national army tasked with defending Iran’s territorial integrity and borders. It is larger, with approximately 350,000–400,000 personnel, but receives only about one-third of the defense budget and relies on older weaponry.

IRGC: An ideologically driven force loyal to the Supreme Leader and the Islamic Revolution, tasked with internal security and asymmetric warfare. It has roughly 125,000 personnel, controls the majority of the defense budget, and manages Iran’s ballistic missile program and proxy networks (such as the Quds Force).

Command Structure: Both forces are nominally subordinate to the Armed Forces General Staff and the Supreme Leader, though the IRGC operates with significant autonomy and distinct chains of command.

I believe the US focus has been on the IRGC and its command structure, including the Supreme Leader(s).

I don’t know if there is any way to know if this is good or bad. It certainly indicates, to me, that we are negotiating with a more radical faction of Iranians.

What indication do you have that would ever be needed? We have done whatever we wanted up to now.

That can’t be good. I hope we haven’t made them a more radical adversary.

Are you afraid that when they say “Death to America” now they will mean it?

Or it shows why we attacked them because they’re radical and would use a nuke. Notice how Israel supposedly has nukes and yet have never tested or used them. Iran showed their arse when they started striking other countries after we hit them.

This is his second time to "resign".

They won't let him. They declined his resignation.

That should tell you something right there.

It feels like we have been trying to negotiate with the official Iranian government. But they are feckless against the hardliners in IRGC.

Trump isn’t lame like W who had 0 plans beyond the attack. There was no end game and we had troops in Iraq for years.Trump knows if he sends in troops the people will turn on him more than just the left.

True Persians believe they’re lineage dates back to antiquity through the Ancient Greeks of mythology and through Alexander the Great.

The Achaemenid Empire (the First Persian Empire, 550–330 BC).

What you see today is a corrupted blood line and people, all thanks to Islam.

quote:

King Xerxes the Great claimed that the Persian royal lineage descended from Perses, who in Greek mythology was the son of the Greek hero Perseus and Andromeda.

The Mythical Lineage: According to Greek traditions recorded by historians like Herodotus and philosophers like Plato, Perseus and Andromeda had a son named Perses. The Greeks (and sometimes educated Persians) identified this figure as the mythological ancestor and founder of the Persian people.

We probably don't understand , know and appreciate their penetration in Iranian society. We may find out that they have 31 friefdoms that operate independently from the recognized government.

Part of the problem is our intel as to the internal politics inside Iran. We've largely ignored and/or been unable to get a handle on what really goes on there.

Pezekhian was ruling at the pleasure of the Supreme Ruler who is in charge of the IRGC, so essentially a government inside of a government

For sure. They were never not going to build a nuke. Their regime is bent on the death of anyone not under the Mullahs.

They simply can’t coexist with a civilized society.

and we need to start taking out. In the back of my mind I get this feeling he's trying to make a list of the new ones to take out, since we took out ones we know. But wouldn't be able to know who would rise to the top.

3 groups we are having to deal with:

Elected officials: starting to be taken out internally, b/c we can to these like the others
IRCG: original leads taken out, but new ones rising to the top
Imans: Top taken out, need more taken out.

That’s where Trump understands leverage and can get the right outcome without a full ground invasion.
