In other words, Iran wants a complete and total surrender from the US.
The best time to withdraw was months ago, but it’s not too late to give this up before we dig a deeper hole for ourselves.

26 VLCC’s left the SoH today, each paying a fine. The TACO Navy did not stop them. I’d say Iran should keep on keeping on.

They're not really leaving him much choice.
What they're doing is calling his bluff. They know he doesn't want to continue bombing and they're essentially daring him to do it... but he continues to come with excuses not to.

Are we still doing the blockade?
Sounds like that's a bluff too we aren't about to torpedo a tanker full of oil
Iran mauve it's useful domestically to get bombed so you can blame shite conditions on us and not bad choices?

I've been saying since early March that we are only beating Iran on this by committing genocide level bombings on the Persian people.
They have a culture that glorifies fighting to the bitter end in a hopeless battle for their faith and country. They are confident their ability to withstand suffering exceeds our own because they think they're made of harder stuff than our own civilian population.
And I think they're broadly right on that front. We're a soft first world nation that keeps everyone in line by putting them on the consumerist hedonic treadmill. When the treats get scarcer, the average American gets pretty aggrieved. These people can suffer longer than our political institutions can withstand the domestic upheaval of more expensive goods and services.
The only way to beat that inevitability is by changing the calculus and it is grim calculus indeed...

The terms as described in the Iranian reports appeared little changed from Iran's previous offer, which U.S. President Donald Trump rejected last week as "garbage".
They haven't changed one bit since the beginning of the ceasefire. It's time to go scorched earth. That's the only option left other than completely leaving the ME and slinking back home without a final deal that's good for the US - and that's not acceptable.
They've been given every opportunity to come to a diplomatic solution and refuse to budge, and are still charging ships millions to pass through an international waterway. It's time to frick em up, no holds barred.
I actually think the Trump detractors in the US and those governments abroad that opposed our initial strikes would have LESS to say if we just went full bore with a final decapitating campaign. The criticism right now all stems from the weak indecisive limbo we've allowed this to become, hit them hard enough that the world doesn't have room to question anything except "why didn't they do this to begin with?"

Nobody is going to be able to say he didn't try.

I'm all for it but 90 million people without power for months would be a disaster
Unless they just eliminate everybody in charge only and minimize the least amount of civilian casualties then go for it and knock their asses out

The lunatics running Iran WANT THIS. They think it will trigger the arrival of some imaginary Mahdi character.
We have to arm the revolutionaries and let them hunt down the fanatics internally. Just send them a bunch of AKs and ammo. Maybe some RPGs. Americans keep hoping that unarmed rebels will rise up and topple the IRGC. That is highly unlikely unless they are armed.
