Now, Trump has put himself in a difficult situation of whether or not to follow through on his threats. Totally manufactured by him. What are we doing here? What happened to America First?

Do you think there's a deeper reason besides what is communicated in the media? Doesn't make sense to get involved at a point when the economy was poised to take off. I'm grasping at straws but maybe he's exposing the Israel lobby and how powerful they are. Praying for this to end, .

Meh.... while I understand you have your own opinion about things, it's unreasonable to pass judgment on a situation that is still playing out.

If this was Biden that did this would you be so patient?

I agree to an extent, but people can give their foresight. The world would be a lot more boring and dumber if we all withheld our opinions on things until they became history.

Make sure you say that solemnly, adds to the gravitas.

What gain? The cost is obvious, but what gain are we going to get out of this? Better trade deals with Iran?

Venezuela and Operation Midnight Hammer made him overconfident with military ops.

I understand your arguments about going in, for which I have my own reservations, but come on brother, we are witnessing a thorough arse kicking, vast majority of which was done without boots on the ground. History will be determined by what happens Iran 5-10 years from now when we (taxpayers) inevitably foot the bill for rebuilding all the stuff, and even that will be a different president stewarding the process.

Generations from now, the Khomeini family will be shitting teeth from getting hit so hard.

Dave Smith made a great point - 5 weeks ago the Strait was open and we hadn't spent $60 billion or lost any Americans.

We havent accomplished anything - its important to remember where we started versus where we stand now.

What’s right is not always politically helpful and that is the problem with America today.

The difference is that it’s all about prioritizing your beliefs. You cannot make positive change if you’re not in power. You cannot gain or maintain power without some pragmatism.

I fear that attempting this attack on Iran now will destroy any chance of getting a MAGA-aligned speaker of the house and senate majority leader, resulting in another lame duck 2 years where Trump gets tied down by impeachment proceedings.

How did you gain access to all of the information put before DJT and his group of experts? What, specifically in this information screamed this war is just recreational for DJT?

Must a hard "need" exist to wipe out your enemies to help guarantee safety, passage and good economy?

Maybe but I don't have a problem with it. Wipe those mf's out Mr. President

yeah because the IRGC is wiped out and the Strait of Hormuz has safe passage. If only it was as simple as you think it is!

You know our military did not prepare for that contingency at all. They though it was a rumor it was Iran's only leverage, so they laughed at it.

You realize nearly all of our top generals including our IC advised not to get into a prolonged escalated war in part because of this (along with the likelihood that Iran would launch missile strikes against SA/UAE/Jordanian oil fields, desalinization plants and pipelines)?

According to reports they put the odds of this working at 10%.

What specific long term gains?

And to that point, what specifically do we need to accomplish in this war to get that long term gain?
