They have straight up said that they are arming the Kurds for the ground forces and they are encouraging the Iranian people themselves to rise up and retake their own country once it's safe to do so. Meanwhile, there is no real indication that they are sending any American troops in. Instead, our leaders have said that they do not intend to invade Iran.
Dude, you don't even know the Iranians troop strength in this ordeal and you're speaking on it as if you are sure what's going to happen. Just stop.

An army without leaders, without direction and lack of a strongman to control them basically means gone.
Military is structured so when ‘leaders’ are gone there is always someone who is going to replace them in the command structure. We have not eliminated Iran’s army. That’s 100% Trumpian bullshite or what Trumpers on here call exaggeration.

Is it? Because if someone blew up my country or Oxford MS, I’d be pretty determined to kill those mother frickers.
30K Iranians were just slaughtered by their own government tor protesting. Imagine how many fence-sitters just hopped off and joined the opposition and welcome the regime change. Do you not see all the Iranian transplants openly supporting and celebrating what is happening live? These aren't half-retard Arabs. These are Persians. They aren't anything like an average Palestinian.

This can only hold up for so long when your entire command structure is gone and you're getting bombs shoved up your arse constantly. In reality what happens is they start to surrender. And that is what is already happening even without any boots on the ground. Give it some time.

Trump is demanding unconditional surrender. It hasn’t happened. Also, do I just need to give it time like “two weeks to slow the spread”. Remember that gem from Trump where two weeks turned into 8 months? We have not destroyed Iran’s military yet. It’s bullshite to state such. Typical of Trump and his sycophants though.

As I said, it is already happening and we are still under a week into what is expected to be a 4 week bombing campaign. And that is before we have any troops in there.
There will be more. A lot more.

quote:Airpower can blind, isolate, and disintegrate a regime’s military. It can destroy command structures, logistics, and heavy weapons. But regimes fall when one of three things happens: ground forces seize power centers, internal elites defect and force a coup, or the leadership flees.
They have straight up said that they are arming the Kurds for the ground forces and they are encouraging the Iranian people themselves to rise up and retake their own country once it's safe to do so.
So, “when it’s safe to do so” is kind of the rub here.
If the regime has already been weakened enough that it’s safe for people to rise up, that means something else has happened on the ground to make it safe. Historically regimes don’t fall because they’re bombed and people are encouraged to revolt.
What examples are you thinking of where that strategy actually worked?
Kosovo is probably the closest case people cite and even there bombing only forced a withdrawal, not regime collapse.
Airpower can cripple a military. Regime change happens when someone physically takes control of the country afterward.
Airpower is the myth that won't die despite never having succeeded.

20 years of bombing the Taliban didn’t work. If they’re committed, they can hold out for a very long time. The Iranian people don’t have a way of fighting back because they are unarmed, mostly have no military or weapons training, and will be facing against forces like the Basij who are more than willing to mow down entire crowds of people. I just don’t see any realistic way to oust the regime without either major defections from the regular army (no sign of this) or tens of thousands US troops.

I think this is why they have been arming the Kurds for the past year. I'm not saying it won't take people on the ground. I'm HOPEFUL that those people on the ground aren't our guys.

The same Kurdish people we fricked over in Syria? The same ones that Turkey has a real BIG problem with?
What do you know? Anything? The above can be gleaned from a cursory review of available information.
