People, especially young men, have had decades to see what family court does to a family if something happens to not work out they way they'd originally hoped.

The dumbest phrase I hear is "I cant afford to have children."

bullshite. They dont want to give up their lifestyle.

Poor people are still having kids, its the wealthier who arent. The money is a bullshite excuse.

An issue is people my age grew up with a great lifestyle, and that is hard to give up.

If people truly want kids, they will make that sacrifice. I suspect its more about these young people not wanting kids than the cost.

Some of these people may want kids, but it’s costly both financially and socially. We grew up too good.

If they arent willing to give up a little lifestyle, they really dont want kids.

Kids always affect lifestyle. Thats one reason I always felt that argument was bogus.

A little? It’s a lot.

Also, One can want 2 things. I am lucky enough to have both. I do not expect my kids to be as lucky

Many today aren’t, and it’s because they grew up too good, and their lifestyle cannot match their parents lifestyle.

Myth.

This kind of highlights why the younger generation is always so helpless.

Are you arguing kids are inexpensive? What are you even arguing?

1919 and the 19th was a defining Amendment. Those charts could be easily correlated with that date through today.
The charts begin in 1975 and show a 90% marriage rate for women by age 30. That means the youngest women in this graph were born in 1945. Most of their mothers were born with the right to vote. Many of their grandmothers probably got it before they were even voting age.

If you can draw a "correlation" with 1919 from this graph, more power to you. Even the person who posted it isn't making that claim.

The graph also has no attributed source for its data, and the axes on the second one are manipulated to make it look like a perfectly indirect relationship when it isn't. So I guess this is the part where we all just take any Twitter graph as fact? Not saying it isn't necessarily even true, just that I expect better from the discerning readers of this board.

Where do you retards come from?

No, I clearly said if people want kids, they'll make the sacrifice.

Poor people are having kids, its the wealthy who are not. The "expense" excuse is absolute bullshite and just a crutch for people who dont want a lifestyle change.

I think he's saying that if you claim you aren't having kids because they are "too expensive," you're a pussy.

Of course it is.

When you have kids, you can no longer act like a kid. You have to grow up.

That's the real anathema IMO.

Poor people’s kids are subsidized by high earners. So, you get to pay for the poors’ children and your own. And for many areas you have to send them to private school to ensure they have a halfway normal experience.

Is that chart suggesting that almost 50% of women in 28-34 have a bachelor degree? I don’t believe that for a second.

I was wrong. That is shocking honestly

We didnt have kids for 5 years. Built house, traveled. After 5 years we were ready. Expensive? Sure. Worth it, absolutely.

When the partying played out, we were ready.

Sure, if you want to look at it like this.

Middle class is where the problem arises, yet these people are still having more children than the rich.

If you want kids, youll have kids. Most people arent fit for parenthood, so maybe its not a bad thing.
