India has a larger population than China. They have similar problems associated with such large populations (sanitation, overcrowding, feeding everybody, etc.), but are not burdened with the past century of Maoism, tyranny, the "one child" policy, etc.
They do have the ongoing issue with Pakistan, but I'm optimistic we can broker a long-term deal between them as well.

I don't think anyone has a problem with that as a long term strategy
It's not something that will happen quickly unfortunately
But if India can slowly start siphoning some production from China that's a win

It was already happening, just very slowly. A lot of companies are going to jump to warp speed on this. In ten years it will have become very impactful.

India would be smart to take advantage of this situation between us and China.
Offer us what we get from China (cheap goods) but with better trade policies and not constantly try to steal our IP and undermine us.
