So is this what the police are overlooking every week in churches?
No. They don't require that permit

Except the references to multiple permits you will have to apply for

Special event permits are required for one-time, occasional events
Singing in church can only happen once in its existence?
Is it a monastery?
Is there a vow of silence?

It shows you haven't read the case, she very clearly outlines when a violation of religious guarantees occurs.
There is a controlling case from the Supreme Court that I have quoted them discussing.
You rejected that for reasons that still aren't clear, to rely on a decision on a law that's not relevant to the discussion from a province that's not relevant to the discussion.

I mean you are the guy always yelling about precedent.
I quoted their analysis of the applicable precedent. The case you cited is not that.

And we’re back to you pretending there is a qualitative difference between a church service and what happened here.

It’s going to be impossible for you to provide because you don’t know the answer.
He knows the answer, he just doesn't like it and won't admit to it.
The answer is that Montreal has no specific regulations clearly differentiating a worship service, and a music concert held in a church.
Because they are the same thing.

The locality determines the answer to that question.
What does Montreal say is “larger?”

How large is “larger?” You don’t know.

Do they do head counts at each church service?

And we’re back to you pretending there is a qualitative difference between a church service and what happened here.
And we're back to you promoting dishonesty and lies to promote a ruse, pretending that this was a normal "worship service" even though it was part of a concert tour that both required permits at every prior stop AND required a permit for this stop on the tour.

quote:Can you help us out and be specific about the LEO role in all of this? They overlook these events EVERY FREAKING WEEK in churches all over the place. Help us understand why they showed up to this one particular event? Is it your contention that it was actually a political rally disguised as a church service?
Religions and religious people don't get to break the laws everyone else must obey b/c of their religion

Correct.
This act was capricious and arbitrary.

Why? That's a regular occurrence and not a special event like this concert

New libertarian position: sometimes you have to apply for something like a permit to do stuff that you do all the time and the government will decide if you get to and that’s ok.

As I said, if these arguments were truly that strong, they should have gotten a restraining order. As we all know, you can get them that day.

You're debasing yourself again.
None of this is my personal policy preferences. I thought you were smart enough to understand that.

Not a stop on a concert tour, is all I need for this discussion.

So he hasn’t performed on the tour yet?
(He has.)
Why did he perform the other time without a permit?
(Because he wasn’t on public land.)
Why did he apply for permits at every other stop?
(Because all the concerts were on public land.)

There are pictures of the concert inside the church
