In a tense phone call, Israel demands US move before two weeks

The two sources familiar with the matter say Israel has communicated its concerns to Trump administration officials on Thursday in what they described as a tense phone call.
The Israeli officials say they do not want to wait the two weeks that US President Donald Trump presented on Thursday as a deadline for deciding whether the US will get involved in the Israel-Iran war, say the sources, who speak on condition of anonymity. The Israeli participants on the call included Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz and military chief Eyal Zamir, according to a security source.

During the call, Vice President JD Vance pushed back, saying the United States shouldn’t be directly involved and suggesting that the Israelis were going to drag the country into war, say the sources. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth also participated in the call, says a security source. Reuters couldn’t determine who else took part in the call.
Publicly, Netanyahu has not ruled out Israel attacking Fordo alone, though officials have not provided any details on how that would be achieved.
Four sources say it is now increasingly likely that Israel will launch a solo military operation. Israeli air superiority over much of Iran makes an operation more feasible, though still risky, say two of the sources

Maybe it’s time to let Israel face this alone!

How did this timeline get escalated so fast? Maybe that’s the part I am missing. Why is it so important now that Iran be dealt with? Their aggressions last year were dealt with.

I don't know why we think everything has to be leaked and reported on.

What was their plan before they started this war? It definitely didn't need to be paid for with US dollars and fought by US soldiers. Israel is vv wealthy and has citizens spread around the world that control mountains of cash. Pay for it with that.

The 2 week thing was a little absurd
Iran is not going to change its mind.
Now, that doesn’t mean we should get involved
But I do think we should just tell Israel to go ahead, and offer defensive AirPower if Iran responds by launching new strikes against Israel

The warmongers will love that Israel is pushing the US.

They weren't really. Iran still continued funding, supplying, and overtly directing their posse of terrorist organizations in its proxy war against Israel.

Because Israel is running out of interceptor missles.
Trump may be playing out the clock and Israel might have unerestimated how quickly they could badger and intimidate Trump into this.

Trump gave them a deadline to make a deal; that deadline expired without a deal. FAFO diplomacy.

That's one of the theories I saw. They didn't expect to get bogged down and need help ASAP.
Trump loves his two week extensions when he doesn't know WTF to do.

If there’s anything we’ve learned we can believe over the past ten years, it’s anonymous sources.
