I’m old enough to remember when Democrats got mad if you called them “communists”

Now…
At least they’re open about being filthy, worthless, and good for nothing communists and not trying to hide their true colors any longer.
Wonder if this will give any of our resident “moderates” like 4chubby and VOR the courage go ahead and admit they are in fact communists?

You’re old like me then lol. I bet you remember growing up and you could go house to house with friends and there was always a mom to make lunch or whatever you needed.

Those two know what they are ultimately supporting.

now many of them openly embrace it - shows just how far left the D's have moved and the wacko's of the party would crucify any who tried to move back to center by even a millimeter; so you can expect it to get "worse" for them

Democrats are teaming up with actual honest-to-there-is-no-God Communist Party groups for some marches today, especially out west and in NYC.

shite, I remember when the MSM was like don’t be these douchebags and meant it.

They were still in the closet and had to put on a big angry show. Otherwise you’d have guessed their closeted secret.
The MSM is still in the “Don’t ask don’t tell” era with their communism.
I was in downtown L.A. for May Day 2014, and that was a huge deal. Parades, speeches over bullhorns, lots of Cesar Chavez references.

Thirty years ago when I started posting on discussion boards I got criticized for calling Dems communists...by conservatives. They'd say: 'Well, we don't like what the Dems are doing but calling them communists is just stupid.'

I’m old enough to remember Democrats were, and still are, worthless pieces of shite.

Classical liberal dems of the 1950's were very effective anti-communists. That started changing around the 1970's when the early wave of the New Left little red book thumpers started to inherit the dem party.

I was having a conversation with Gemini about how communism has become good and fascism is bad when in reality they are both bad. I asked gemini to compose an article based on the conversation.
The Totalitarian Twin: Why We Are Blind to the "Communist Duck"
In the digital echo chambers of 2026, the word "Fascist" has become the ultimate conversation-stopper—a label used to disqualify any policy that prioritizes national borders or meritocracy. Yet, a dangerous paradox has emerged: while Fascism is rightly treated as a historical poison, its ideological twin, Communism, is increasingly viewed by "useful idiots" as a fashionable, even compassionate, alternative.
To cut through this gaslighting, we must return to the "Duck Test." The logic is simple: If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it’s probably a duck. In politics, this means ignoring what a movement calls itself and focusing entirely on what it does.
The False Hierarchy of Evil
Modern discourse often judges Communism by its stated "intent" (equity and justice) while judging Fascism by its "results" (oppression and death). However, the results of both are virtually identical.
The Body Count: While Fascist regimes were responsible for roughly 25 million deaths, Communist regimes (Mao, Stalin, Pol Pot) saw an estimated 100 million people perish through state-orchestrated famine and purges.
The Shared Method: Both systems rely on the same "quack": the erasure of the individual, the abolition of private property, and the silencing of dissent.
The Role of the "Useful Idiot"
History is littered with "revolutionary footmen"—people who support a cause they don't fully understand, only to be destroyed by it later.
The Iranian Parallel: In 1979, middle-class women and secular intellectuals helped topple the Shah, believing they were winning "freedom." Within months, the new regime mandated the veil and stripped them of their rights.
The Modern Irony: Today, we see activists using $1,200 smartphones and capitalist-funded platforms to demand the destruction of the very system that provides their abundance. They are "protesting for their own disappearance," brainwashed into believing that "Socialism" will somehow preserve the "fruits" of the Capitalism they hate.
The Dictator’s First Move: The Disarmament Paradox
A true dictator’s first move is always to disarm the public and capture the information flow. This creates a glaring contradiction in today’s narrative:
The Observation: One side is labeled "dictatorial" while defending the right of lawful citizens to stay armed.
The Rebuttal: The side claiming to "save democracy" is the one pushing to disarm the public and coordinating with a "voluntary" media to silence opposing views.
The Duck Test: If a system seeks to take your tools of self-defense and manage your information, it doesn't matter if they call themselves "Anti-Fascist"—they are behaving like a dictator.
Inequality: A Biological Reality
The fundamental flaw of the "equity" movement is the denial of human nature. Since humans evolved, there has never been a "flat" society. Humans vary in talent, ambition, and luck.
Capitalism manages this reality by rewarding value, creating a middle class that serves as the engine of stability.
Communism/Socialism doesn't remove inequality; it simply replaces a hierarchy of merit with a hierarchy of political loyalty. It equalizes the misery for everyone except the elite few at the top.
Conclusion: Waking Up Before the Harvest
The tragedy of the "useful idiot" is that they usually wake up only after the "fruits" are gone—the 401(k) is seized, the business is shuttered, and the tools of self-defense are removed. The ongoing DOGE audits of 2026 are attempting to provide a "cold shower" of transparency by exposing the NGO pipelines that fund this manufactured chaos.
Ultimately, we must trust our own eyes over the digital bombardment. If it walk like a totalitarian and quacks like a totalitarian, it is one. We must recognize the "duck" before we find ourselves living in the "shared misery" of a system that has failed every single time it has been tried.
I know TLDR

Aggiedub is saying modern democrats are for kindness, a return to normalcy, taxing the ultra rich, and common sense immigration reform.

Even Democrats are calling a spade a spade today.
Instead of “Commie, Commie, Commie traitor to our country…it’s Democrat, Democrat, Democrat traitor to our country.”

Sen. John Fetterman (D) just MIC DROPPED the Democrat and communist May Day protests today railing against "billionaires" "I mean, it's ironic — these kinds of protests are being funded by BILLIONAIRES, against billionaires!" "These TERRIBLE groups like CODE PINK and a lot of the other ones that are strongly aligned to the CCP. Without a doubt, they're being financed!" "Terrible or bad ideas refuse to die and it's very sad to see that kind of things being revisited." "I mean, I don't know if they realize the irony in many of those things right now." "And now there is kind of a small communist takeover in Maine, you know, Platner, he's already announced that he's an avowed communist!" "He's going to be the Democratic nominee. So there is a resurgent about the socialism and that's becoming more and more part of it."
quote:
Fetterman Warns of Communist Resurgence in Democrats, Targets Maine's Platner.
Fetterman criticized May Day protests as billionaire-funded attacks on billionaires and linked groups like Code Pink to Chinese influences, while highlighting Platner's past communist self-identification, Nazi-linked tattoo, and deleted Reddit posts mocking religion and defending controversial acts. Despite the controversies, top Democrats including Chuck Schumer, Rahm Emanuel, and Tim Walz have rallied behind Platner, the Marine veteran and oyster farmer now leading Maine's Senate primary after Gov. Janet Mills suspended her campaign. The support highlights party tensions between moderates like Fetterman, who labeled Platner an 'a-hole with a Nazi tattoo,' and leaders focused on flipping Sen. Susan Collins' seat.

Don’t you find that almost, if not all of the democrats try to convince people they aren’t? If your party is so correct about everything why are they ashamed to admit they’re a part of it?

Communists? In a way.
I think a more accurate label would be statists or neo-fascists.
They plan on keeping their power, money and influence while also using the means of the state to enrich themselves even further.
Boris Yeltsin and Gorbachev were still considered communists and yet they would not be considered wealthy compared to the statists/neo-fascists Leftists of today.
