It's kinda like when a fanbase is talking all kinds of shite before a big game. I'll usually just say "the good thing is they're going to play the game so we'll know who was right soon enough".
So let them make their insane doom and gloom predictions (as if the last four years were awesome) and we'll know soon enough who was correct.
ETA: I think we can also say that any doom and gloom predictions made four years ago about the impact of a progressive agenda and identity politics pretty much all turned out to be correct.
