re: I'm black. I don't support black criminals. So, I don't support George Floyd

After I read about how George Floyd broke into a woman's house. The woman was pregnant and he put a gun to the woman's stomach and robbed her.
Is this true? I googled “George Floyd criminal record” and all that pulls up is “Derek Chauvin is an a-hole”. Scrolled through 4 pages SHOCKER

And what was your family’s response?

That's the result of desegregation. My grandparents aren't educated but due to segregation their neighbors were cops, teachers, and a medical doctor. So, my grandparents kids were surrounded by others who could give them what my grandparents could not. And, 4/5 of my grandparents kids are college educated professionals with my uncle being a veteran welder.
Frankly, nowadays, it's to the point that the lower class Blacks are so envious of educated/skilled Blacks if you're around them too much you might get killed or robbed. It's not worth the trouble.
I used to be really into performance mods on cars. I was at performance shop one day, and they were waiting on a part to be delivered for another customer. I struck up a conversation with the guy, who happened to be black. He came into a large sum of money from an accident. He told me he was from Tuskegee. I asked him some question about how long it took him to get here, from there. That's when he opened my white-man eyes.
He said that he doesn't live in Tuskegee anymore. He moved to Northport. I won't quote his exact words, but I'll paraphrase his next sentence. "A (black person) can't have anything in Tuskegee!" Implying, that he would be robbed day and night if he stayed there.

I never said anything regarding whether the guy deserved to die.
You have clearly implied he didn’t have the same right to life as others due to his criminal history.

I simply said this man was troubled, had a disturbing criminal history, and created bad karma for himself.
Ok.

And, the reason many Black people hate to hear about the criminal histories of so many Black men who die due to a run-in with the police is because they know deep down these guys are typically foolish.
No, it’s because people like you use it as if it’s some quasi-justification for the police to do what they have done. Again, he had a knee to the back of his neck for 10 mins. Was he a saint? Absolutely not. But since when does a criminal record allow this type of force to be used against you?

I think one of the biggest problems within the black community is that the ones that are the most successful play too much into the racism arguments. Why didn't the ones that are stuck in poverty and came from similar backgrounds not improve there lives...
Far too many successful Blacks get caught up in what they feel is survivor's guilt. Even though they didn't really survive any strife. They simply did the right things and they are a success which is what happens for most Americans.
The ones who are stuck in poverty made bad decisions but they had opportunities like everyone else. The USA is fluid society class wise; certainly more fluid class wise than many, many other places. If you're an American and apply yourself there are opportunities to live a comfortable life regardless of race. I refuse to believe otherwise.

Floyd can be a POS criminal, and sill be have been wrongfully killed. Both can be (and IMHO are) true.
correct. we have to judge based on what happened at that exact time
same with trayvon, sterling and brown. all thugs at that TIME! cannot comment on freddie gray. but we know what the other 3 tried to do right then and there.

Why does this kind of thing only happen to certain people?

My attitude is I don’t think anyone should be slowly suffocated by the police in that manner. I have no idea why this is so controversial of a position to take in your eyes.

They agreed because they raised me. Behind closed doors most Blacks will agree these guys are screw ups and something bad was bound to happen to them.

It’s pretty controversial if your opinion is burning down people’s businesses and livelihoods is an appropriate response.

No doubt, its despicable and those killers should be punished.
That’s all I’m saying. I’m not defending Floyd’s criminal past or trying to paint him as a saint.
All I’m saying is DESPITE that....he did not deserve to die in that manner which was quite Fd up and excessive.

Do your friends and family talk much if any about how the cities have been run by Democrats - many of them POC - for decades now and yet the police brutality issues are almost never addressed and changed?

You don't have to support Floyd to see the injustice.

I know so many Black people who have regressed from the economic standing their parents had it's not even funny. And, they regressed because they chose to follow not what their parents taught and provided them with. Rather, they chose to follow what's popular and adopt a ghetto, entitled mentality. Now, their lives are shite, they have bastard children here and there, and blame White folks for their predicament.
