This is an even better approach than my suggestion, if less gratifying.

Bay, what part do you think he's wrong about?

For new hires, companies can say today you must be vaccinated before they hire you.

For existing employees, If the company implements a mandatory vaccine policy, they can and will fire you if you aren't vaccinated.

If the company has a mandatory vaccine policy, your statement carries no weight. They will fire you anyway. Thats happening today, re the hospital in Houston.

History always repeats itself it seems. Mandatory smallpox vaccinations saw a similar story, with hesitancy on accepting vaccinations until employers banded together to essentially force their employees to get vaccinated.

Nope you are not correct on this. Using HIPPA to try to hide your vaccination status is a dead end.

https://www.hipaajournal.com/is-it-a-hipaa-violation-to-ask-for-proof-of-vaccine-status/

From the article "Vaccination information is classed as PHI and is covered by the HIPAA Rules. However, HIPAA only applies to HIPAA-covered entities – healthcare providers, health plans, and healthcare clearinghouses – and their business associates. If an employer asks an employee to provide proof that they have been vaccinated in order to allow that individual to work without wearing a facemask, that is not a HIPAA violation as HIPAA does not apply to most employers."

I don't think a state has to pass a law first. We have had several customers implement attestation policies that are not in areas with attestation laws in effect.

I will ask our HR and Legal departments today for clarification on this point.

Hypothetically speaking, If Walmart were to implement an attestation policy for employees working at HQ in Bentonville AR. (AR passed a state law prohibiting cities from passing mask mandates, but allowing companies to do their own thing). And you were to violate WM's HQ attestation policy, I'm 99.99% sure WM would nuke you.

Thanks for the info. Enjoying this discussion.

I’m no benefits manager so I can’t be certain.

I’ll stand by my other posts that corporate America in general is not likely looking to expand their current HR departments to include employee COVID status and vaccination tracking.

There is no money in this garbage for private companies. And I am willing to bet most Americans don’t want the government or their employer any more involved in their personal health decisions than they already are.

As you stated, you’re currently spending 10% of your time dealing with this nonsense.

Before the smallpox vaccine, the survival rate was only 70%.

Before this mRNA vaccine, the survival rate of COVID was 99%.

Not sure how this is history repeating itself from a survival rate perspective.

You should go back and do some research about the development and testing of the smallpox vaccine.

Start here: NIH

I don't believe the smallpox vaccine is a good comparison to the current crop of "vaccines" related to COVID.

Just let them fire you and get on unemployment like everyone else. The quicker we bring on the crash, the quicker we can take back our country and purge it of all these government leeches.

I'm extremely familiar with both that article, and the history of smallpox vaccination efforts. That article doesn't reference the time period I'm alluding to unfortunately.

You don't even know what era I'm referencing. By the time of public health measures in developed countries, smallpox was limited to smaller outbreaks in endemic countries. According to DA Henderson, by 1959, there were only 59 countries where it was endemic, with less than 100k cases. Indeed, the mass vaccination program by the WHO encountered resistance by public health officials who didn't feel it would be worthwhile to vaccinate the public. If you understood anything about the vaccination program in detail, you'd see the extremely similar rhetoric. I can pull some direct quotations once I get to my library.

Is he using vaccine reluctance as an excuse? He may have decided to fire you anyway and the vaccine status is his excuse because he can say that it is your fault. Even if you were to get the vaccine, you might get fired anyway. It might be time to start looking for another job.

at least file a complaint with HR for hostile work environment. That will shutdown any chance of them firing you anytime soon.

I don't doubt there was extremely similar rhetoric. Now I see the context you were referencing. Good point.

It's none of anybody's fricking business what personal health decisions one makes, especially your employer.

Your company provides health insurance, and the more people that need to use the HI the more the rates go up for everyone, company wide.

It is 100% their business, and they can enforce mandatory vaccinations, legally, in most states if they want to.

This started happening with our 1099 contractors that have renewable annual 2080 work hour-retainers with us. Pretty much threatening them that the guaranteed 1-yr signed contracts will be replaced by a "We'll call you as needed, don't call us" arrangement.

They haven't messed with us W2's yet but it's on the horizon in some form or fashion.

Forcing someone to take a emergency vaccine seems like a key indicator that the company is acting like an employer and not a 1099 relationship.

Are you really so scared of the vaccine that you would lose your job over it? What a fricking pussy.
