Please stop lying. Additionally, your side is under investigation for $84 million dollars worth of money laundering. So let's not cast stones in a glass house...

Quote from article above:

'So who should be worried? Everyone involved — from the donors themselves to Democratic fundraisers to party officials who filed false reports and, ultimately, to Clinton campaign and HVF officials looking at significant legal jeopardy.'

But he won.

I’ll repeat that because I know it really grinds your gears...

HE WON.

Ex-Obama Campaign Director Drops Bombshell Claim on Facebook: 'They Were on Our Side'
I don't think the issues are all that comparable. From that 2011 Time story (so it was obviously well known) Obama's app requested permission to see their friend list, and then asked them to share information with their friends.

Cambridge bought the data that from an outside researcher who was allowed access for academic purposes. And there were only 270,000 users who consented to that in the first place but they gained access to tens of millions through that.

So the researcher is the one who really messed up though. But regardless the issue isn't that they accessed data itself, it's that they accessed data that was for research purposes only and they accessed data that tens of millions did not consent to providing. Obama's operation, at least from the 2011 Time story, seems to have accessed data they users consented to providing.

.... who won? I like that better.

BTW... did McCain Romney or JEB! get any help from Facebook, google, etc? Nope.

So all of this “you should do this so this group or that group will vote for you” bs is over. It’s not working anymore. The McCains, Romney’s and JEB!s our there are done for a while.

Wrong buckeye vol... Their friends did not give permission to use their info. It's the same exact situation as Trump. Media ignored this under Obama, represents it as a criminal activity and blows it up with Trump. It's exhibit Z of media hypocrisy.

But unless I missed it in the article, the only information they were given was the user’s friends and naturally any publically provided information.

If somebody wants to see my PERSONAL list of Facebook friends, then it’s my right to give it to them if they ask for permission.

A researcher selling personal information that he was not allowed to use is at best a major ethical violation and at worst illegal.

Now I’m not sure if Cambridge did anyhing illegal, but I can see why Facebook banned them regadless. That being said, I’m interested in seeing how they were able to get personal information on 50 million users from the original 270,000.

Did Obama access information that users did not consent to provide? If so, what information? And how does that compare to the unauthorized sale of research data, and the access to tens of millions of users who apparently didn’t consent?

Now my biggest issue isn’t with the unauthorized sale, specifically the resesrcher who sold it. So while Cambridge may not have done anything illegal, I’m also OK with Facebook banning them for it.
