Liberals today are basically socialists. The Democrat Party is inundated with proud socialists. You are welcome to show me where socialism has ever worked? I know it’s cost the lives of over 100+ million in the previous century. That’s not very smart to try something that’s never worked in practice. Capitalism and free markets aren’t perfect, but 100% better.

How are you defining "liberal" and through what processes are you determining if someone is part of that group?

I'm pro-gay marraige, pro-life, small government, anti-woke. Does pro-gay marriage make me a liberal despite everything else? What if you started tinkering with other values?

I think back when I was 20 (30 years ago) I liked the idea of liberal women being liberal with their bodies

So yeah, I guess I was more liberal then

I didn't care about politics when I was 20. I was too busy chasing tail.

Tend to agree but there is much less free market today than say twenty years ago. Mercurial tariffs, export taxes, etc. More like central planning.

Was more liberal in my 20’s, but knew nothing of the world. I remember always voting yes on bonds, not understanding I’d have to pay for that new park or school.
My father always said once life kicks you in the nuts a few times, you’ll come around.
He was not wrong.

This slogan made more sense 30 years ago. 80s liberals and 20s progressive communists are very very different.

The left “Liberals” used to be anti-war and pro social services and checks on the philosophy of profits over people.

The left today represents abortion, pedophilia, Bolshevistic revolution, and moral relativism.

How many of y’all were driving around with “W The President” stickers?

I was in college on 9/11 and a “College Republican” but quickly became vehemently opposed to the Iraq War by 2003.

Conservatives wouldn’t have me; called me an “America Hater.” Considered myself a Liberal by 2004 since conservatives were basically Neocons.

I was and always have been pretty environmentalist, but back then that meant cleaning up after yourself, which I felt was pretty damn linked to responsibility and conservatism. Today it’s linked to nonsense and stuck in “climate.”

Fast forward to post 2010 I feel pretty vindicated and happy as a MAGA Trump 3x conservative. Only view that’s changed is on abortion - zero tolerance now after having my own kids.

Because we think we have to control everything, even if that means less opportunities.

It's easy to be a liberal when you're not paying any taxes.
