If your wife was raped would you be opposed to her getting an abortion?

Most pro life people agree with exceptions for rape incest but that does not seem to be the case for many on this board . Perhaps close to majority. If your pro choice wife was raped and ended up pregnant and the trauma made her decide she wanted to end the pregnancy? If not how would you react?

Edit: The rapist was someone she knew who threatened her and she was initially too scared to report it so plan b was not an option.

I'd support her decision and shoot the rapist.

Nope. Her choice. And as soon as the Doctor finishes with her they can get started amputating the cods of the heathen rapist. No need to clean the scalpel.

Good question, most people are passionate until it hits home.

Do you even remotely understand what occurs when a rape victim presents to a health care professional? Tell me you are not that dumb.

I guess an argument AGAINST would be :

How does murdering an innocent baby rectify what happened?

You could have the baby and give it up for adoption.

Ppl don’t just get raped. Most of the time there’s many other variables to it. Like the one who raped a 10 yr old, seems like mother knew. Most are also known to victim. Normal people don’t just get pulled into an ally and get raped.

And yes my wife would go straight to hospital if it ever happened, just like it should be mandatory for sexual assault/rape victims. This whole wait months or years to bring it up only allows the person to get away w it and think they can do it again.

If the father has to pay child support I would just keep it.

Why u keep trying to come up with “what if” scenarios to legitimize something where over 95% of abortions do not involve rape?

So trying to live with absolutes is going to kill our country. So I feel there have to be exceptions and nuances. So yes I would support my (a) wife in this situation. It is a situation on the extreme of the issue designed as a wedge. Would it be heroic to carry that baby to term and put up for adoption? Yes. I would support that also. Which would I prefer? The later.

I think I know where u r going but go ahead... I don't think it will make the OP question irrelevant but I'd like to hear it.

Yes I do. It’s a hypothetical to gauge people’s views. Say the guy was someone she knew from her past and threatened to kill her and she was initially to scared to report it.

Are you kidding? Violent rapes happen daily, it's not like they are planned.
