To hear liberal Filth tell it, those kids are going to be the ones to cure cancer and put the first man on Mars, so the nations of the children's parents should be thrilled to become their home.

Over 20 replies and not a single answer, coherent or otherwise, as to why you'd be against changing the law?

I get it... the current interpretation of the law is if born here, then you're a citizen.

Why would anyone be against changing this? That's the question.

I support it under certain pretenses. If you come here on a fricking layover and pop out a kid, no frick you.

If you move here and make a life here and raise a family who love red white and blue, yes you may stay

Now apply that logic to the Second Amendment.

What do you mean by "move here"? Does that include illegally crossing the border?

Non citizens without green cards leave. That is right. They can take their anchor babies with them if they want.

We tried to "make it right" in 1986. 3.2 million illegals in 86, 12 million in 2007.

All men are fallible as is their product in the 14th amendment. You are correct. I don't like it. It is the constitution and not the bible.

Well, the 2nd is insurance for the 1st. Great Britain is a great example of a society that does not have our 2nd Amendment, care to guess what they are currently locking people up for there? EXERCISING THEIR ABILITY TO SPEAK FREELY!

I am convinced that the founding fathers were divinely influenced. Every amendment in the Bill of Rights were pure genius. What came after, was pure politics.

Yes
Especially a right awarded to a woman who can cross the border, birth a baby and receive the fruits of our society, and in time with the rest of her family.

This just massively contradicts a the way this country was made

This country was made with mostly White Christian British immigrants. And then with White Christian European immigrants.

That's not who is coming today.

Birthright citizenship for all was not a thing until 1868, technically not until 1898. Before then, states had different rules for citizenship, but usually limited to whites.

In 1857, the Supreme Court affirmed that blacks were not and could not be citizens.

The Naturalization Act of 1790 stated that only "free white persons" of good character could become citizens and required 2 years residency, later pushed to 5.

If you really want to go back to the way this country was made, then I'm good with it.

Two married us citizens travel to China (or any other country) for vacation. The wife goes into unexpected early labor amd delivers their baby in Beijing. Is their baby a Chinese citizen?

I guess that depends on whether they have a 14th Amendment or not

I no longer support it and I think an amendment should be passed. That said, it is the law of the land for now.

This ultimately happens IMO. I’m not confident SCOTUS will side with Trump.

We can’t pass a budget, how the hell are we gonna pass an amendment to the constitution? Those days are long gone. Our system is broken.

No kings protests are openly carrrying communist flags. Illegals that are murderers are being protected by sanctuary cities. We are broken.
