If you believe in sanctuary cities it would be okay to have sundown laws?

Why stop there, just dont pay federal tax, stop women from voting, I mean its a sanctuary.

Hijack my own thread for a sec, whenever McCarthy is mentioned I think of ole Walt Disney. The cartoonists union were giving him a tough time during that period and he whispered that the two union heads might be commie. He friggin ruined their lives. Ole Walt aint the saint everyone thinks he was.

I often wonder what the dumbest post I've seen on the PT board is.... this is up there.
Sanctuary cities = specifically welcoming to all types of people
Sundown town = exclusionary to specific types of people based on race.
Sanctuary cities don't care what color you are. Sundown towns are explicitly racist.
I don't know what you're on but I want some.

They love to talk about mythical sundown towns, many of which haven't been around for 50 years. But every major city in America has "sundown neighborhoods" where certain people cannot go even in the daytime.

That's a city's legal right and there's not damn thing anyone can do about it.

A homogenous population consisting of people who share cultural values can afford to be and should strive to be as open as possible.
However when you invite in people who dont share your cultural values you have to be prepared to actively defend it in perpetuity or it will be consumed by the cultures you import.

When you say “sundown laws,” are you referring to a set of laws that would allow citizens of a town to kill black people during the night if they’re in the town?

Unless you're a gun owner. Or a conservative. Or don't believe in trans kids.
I shouldn't know what a Terry stop is, but I do, because DeKalb county is a sanctuary jurisdiction that loved to harass people that open carried. Put those "love is love" or BLM signs in your yard or prepare to be harassed.

What the frick are you talking about? There is no safer place IN THE WORLD for anyone of any race than a white suburb in America.
Who is safer? A black man in Covington, or a white man in New Orleans East?

That’s the accepted view of white city-dwelling allies.
The truth is far from that. If you go to the “burbs” and beyond that to the semi-rural, you will find that race is not the issue, behavior and cultural norms are the issue.
Less apologies are given for ghetto behavior, while urban whites make fools of themselves by figuratively twerking (badly) for the black folks to see.

Sundown Towns were never enshrined in law. They were just towns in American history where supposedly black people were not safe after dark.
Such places exist all over America currently, but the opposite.

Yep, and the feds have the right to remove customs and immigration from their cities, and remove FAA air traffic controllers as well. Glad we agree.
