The USD has had a good run. Reserve currencies change about every 82 years.

Lol. We haven't had reserve currencies for very long, and people started trading in US reserves during WWI. Saying they are cyclical is idiotic.

The IRS will spend 500k to get your 25k in back taxes. No better way to meet your government than to not pay taxes.

What happens when the value of the dollar crashes from not being propped up by oil? What happens when stock market, housing market, or student loan bubble crashes? Anything can crash, is it likely, no but if it does it will rebound, and the reason for getting into Bitcoin in this situation isn't about money it's getting away from government that views half of it's citizens as terrorist just listen to George w bushs speech yesterday

noone knows because it's decentralized

again

The whole point of this scenario is to get away from government that would make it illegal

Anders, if you'd like to discuss tax avoidance rather than tax evasion, some of us would be happy to help you out.

Your bitcoin plan is flawed not just because it offers no legal tax benefit, but there are real transactional challenges at the levels many of us operate. It has nothing to do with acting "tough on the internet". It has to do with maintaining actual F*ckYou monetary, asset, and account fungibility IRL.

Again, if you think deploying a questionably flawed financial strategy is the route to your independence, go for it. Let us know how it works out.

The best money is still cash. Physical money. Even if it's fiat like USD. You can't seize my Benjamin's without prying them out of my cold dead hands. In person. Tangibly.

They are decreasing the value of those physical dollars to the tune of 10% or more a year by printing at unprecedented rates.

You know what’s hilarious, I’m a Boomer and I know 10 X’s more about BTC and crypto than most 20 & 30 year olds. Been invested in BTC and various other crypto since 2016.

BTC & Crypto has been, by far, and it’s not even close, the single best investment you could make over the last 5 years.

btw, here’s a tip; get a MetaMask, do some research, and buy low cap gems off uniswap or sushi swap long before they get listed on a CEX. QNT and SOL were pure Diamond buys last Spring. Buy RVP right now.

Why is that hilarious? When btc was first mined people who are 20 would have been in grade school. I'm glad you're proud of yourself, but this is just inane.

Trend following in crypto as a trading strategy is fine but it’s still speculative. Nobody should be dumping their entire net worth into 1 asset regardless if it’s perceived value. That has and never will work in the long run.

Oh, and it’s not an inflation hedge
