Even if it was a North vs South States type fight the North would be absolutely annihilated this time around.

Not at all.
The red states have all of the Military advantages.
The most guns per capita, The most military bases, and practically all of the nukes.
You wouldn't even be able to claim that the Military would support the Blue because the military would typically side with the conservatives over the left.

What if Blue Bell ice cream was free every Tuesday? But that's not the OP question.

The United States armed forces are going to side with the primary government, which will not be the Southern States.
Most guns per capita do not mean a thing when they're in the hands of the most uneducated and most overweight region of the country.
President Trump in his infinite buffoonery would not back this and would put the southern states down immediately. Hell, the next hurricane that came through would be devastating when the South begs for help and none comes.
You think the southern states could handle the north, they couldn't take North Korea.

You think that's some "gotcha" comment?

Nazis, and neo-Nazis are not the right, genius.
That's funny, because every scholar I've read that even attempted to place them on a political spectrum places Nazis as textbook right-wing authoritarians. Just because Nazis used the world "socialist" doesn't make them left-wing
Hell, it's easy to tell that Nazi's weren't left-wing because economic equality was nowhere on their agenda

This is not totally correct. LOTS of scholars dislike the idea of a straight line political spectrum precisely because of things like naziism and communism.

It certainly reveals the truth, and the truth can be ugly.

What truth? That you are bigoted? We knew that.
Posted on 9/1/17 at 1:38 pm to Revelator
Point went over your head. How can civil war ever be worth it in our current set up?
Once you address that one, trump being president is reduced importance.

Sigh. Time to repeat this again.
The Economist Magazine - a conservative (as in, a magazine Margaret Thacher read cover to cover every week) magazine once did an article on "life in Middle America, what I didn't realize until I became the Economist correspondent for the USA and traveled to Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Small Town Ohio, etc".
The economist reporter said it is impossible to describe how nice everyone is. All the kids have paper routes and all the dads coach little league. (Not all of course I am slightly joking and exaggerating, but that in a broad stroke is what the reporter wrote, everyone kind of gets along and sincerely likes and helps everyone. Everyone goes to some Methodist or Catholic or Lutheran Church. Few are in any basements or coffe shops smoking hand rolled cigs and having discussions about Fascism, Globalism, Marxism, Nietzche, etc). That is not the "brew/recipe" for....a revolution.
Two - The economist report said imagine a house where everyone has their own bedroom and one is left over for the guests (guest bedroom). There are not one but really two living rooms (living room and family room). And maybe even a basement hand out video den. Hot water all the time, spews out with no interruptions. A stocked kitchen. Lawn and garden in good shape. All the teeth of the family are in good shape. Each drivers age person has their own car and a place in the family garage. Oftentimes no fences between houses. People trust one another and in small towns don't lock their doors. Everyone has their own laptop. Trips to chain restaurants happen if not weekly, then with some regularity.
Ask a European who lives like that and he will say a very lucky person but more likely a big businessman, a government minister, someone who inherited, a extremely lucky and trained professional like the best cardiac doctor in town.
In Des Moines Iowa this house - which the reporter visited - belonged to a guy who worked for the post office. His wife worked as a secretary and part time no less. And all the kids love sports and are college bound.
In a country where the guy who delivers your mail has a big house and good teeth, there won't be a revolution. No matter crazy websites (who know better, they are just trying to fool you for hits, are you really not realizing this by now, do you fall for the emails from Nigeria?) say.
The military is not about to start plowing down the residents of Omaha and the people of Omaha are not about to take up whatever rifles they have to challenge the Navy Seals.
America is not the country to look at for a civil war or revolution.

I think the politicians and bureaucracy are much more suspect than the military. I think most of the professional military know that they are Constitutionally bound against action upon the citizens. I figure once we are at the point of all out civil war, the federal alphabet agencies, and probably at least some of the police force will be the real issue.

A civil war between who? Twitter trolls? This is all BS sure you will have an occasional riot by wanna be anarchist and a lot of talk from "militia" groups ,but push comes to shove there won't be anything that resembles a war.

I'm not talking up a straight-line political spectrum - I prefer a spectrum with two axes. Every political scientist I've read that placed Nazism put them in the right-wing authoritarian quadrant. As opposed to the left-wing authoritarian Commies, the right-wing libertarian Milton Friedman, and the left-wing libertarian hippies
