Deficit, not debt, and that's literally what's being discussed.

If you repurpose money borrowed in deficit spending, you're not solving the problem.

And I posted numbers involving the highest estimate of total federal waste/theft.

Nah, my generation and the ones after mine will be saved.

What I have been paying in the last 20+ years wont be worth nearly as much 30 years from now when I start to withdraw.

If trump and musk cut social security

JFC-they LITERALLY have stated NUMEROUS times they will not cut social security benefits for American citizens, they will stop payments to people who are dead and those who are not eligible to recieve the benefits. This needs to be done

Do you honestly think they would cut SS to those that have paid into the system? Pretty sure they are going to cut the 12-14million recipients that are all 130 years or older, and they should cut all not residents and those that have never paid a penny into it.

What will happen is the MSM and the soulless left will run with the narrative that they are going to kill old people by taking their SS away and of course the low information left will believe this.

That money was already borrowed/spent in the past. It has no relationship to deficits in the future.

Yes, it does. We have been in some sort of foreign entanglement for decades spending trillions of dollars.

Budgets are based on past spending.

Virtually every facet of our government was developed in the midst of these foreign entanglements and wars, with their associated spending and human requirements.

Getting rid of them going forward changes everything, and makes our budgets meaningless when compared to past history.

Show me where that spending is included in the 2023 budget.

LOL. Even the people working there can't show you where spending is located in the budgets.

There are massive lump sums in these budgets that are not earmarked for anything. Also they add special spending bills throughout the year, so this budget doesn't actually mean anything.

Slo it's been years due to CBR that a BBA has been talked about. Back in the day many saw that The Houses just couldn't help themselves and it was needed. Others said elect different representation. Others said it would hinder the country in times of emergency.
Where do you stand?
I would rather have better representation but would take a BBA. I just don't see a vote for it ever. The politicians don't want their vote on record so here we are.

We would have to take the revenue for SS/Medicare and apply it to the general revenue sourcing, yes.

It also wouldn't be a 1:1 reduction, as every dollar we take out will negatively affect the economy and reduce tax receipts in kind, but we have to get everyone on the same page about the basic arithmetic of our budget-deficit situation first before we talk about those secondary and tertiary issues.

Social Security took in $1.35 trillion in income in income in 2023 and it paid out, according to the budget you posted, $1.3 trillion. So it is offsetting itself for now. It is supposed to be $300 billion short by 2035, but it is not currently.

This is wrong.

They can't always show you where the money goes, but they know how much is received in taxes/borrowed.

And are accounted for in the total budget. This is why we don't have exact numbers for 2024 and I used 2023.

Oh he said that? Then that settles it. The MF ALWAYS tells the truth, right? You dildoes are like the proverbial frog who doesn’t realize he’s being slowly boiled in a pot of water.
