It does make me wonder why a lot of people say we have no business messing with Ukraine, but should step in on this one. Why not keep it America First consistently?

Why are we fighting and dying Taiwan? For Nancy Pelosi?
Posted on 5/31/25 at 11:36 am to Geekboy
Trump is looking for a reason to destroy China financially. I can only image the sanctions he would drop on them if they invaded Taiwan.

I love all the confident takes in here. Especially considering maybe 2-3 of you have any level of clearance that would qualify you to comment on this matter.

China would be stupid to do this. It would at minimum end trade between us. Wouldn’t even need tariffs, Trump would rightful reason to impose sanctions at that point

"He said on Saturday that the threat from China was potentially imminent as he pushed allies in the Indo-Pacific to spend more on their own defense."
lying piece of shite headline writer
That quote is RIGHT THERE IN THE STORY.
Why leave out the bolded word?

So if another world war breaks out, then wealthy people get wealthier and poor people die. Nothing strange about that.

Pete would just text them our response plans

Yeah the genius Chinese had a little math snafu regarding their population and how they plan on feeding themselves.
It’s things like this that make me wonder how smart they really are. Just saying.
Communism and starvation? They go together like peas and carrots.

China would be committing suicide to do this while Trump is in office.
China would only pursue such a draconian action, knowing the instantaneous pariah status it would assume worldwide, could only be the result of extreme Hardliners in the CCP putting Xie's existence into play.

China WILL start a war, but not over Taiwan, for the South China Sea's oil.
Posted on 5/31/25 at 3:32 pm to prplngldtigr
We can not allow Taiwan to fall to China. The tech is the issue.
Posted on 5/31/25 at 3:35 pm to OchoDedos
The world putting sanctions on China would result in nothing.
Russia should be the example for that for all.
The only response to them invading Taiwan would be military.

They have the manufacturing ability. But the US is the main supporter of their manufacturing. If we are at war that would get cut off and they would have serious issues. Just like when the tariffs started. They had to close so many factories because they didn't have the need to produce as much.

China does not need Taiwan,,,,,,that would be a huge mistake if they invade.

Sadly, I think China has the much greater manufacturing ability needed to sustain a war effort than we do.
But they have nowhere close to any kind of level of air superiority needed just to invade Taiwan.
