Is it time to abandon them? I say this fully understanding the consequences. We all know if something like this happens, it will magically be just the right amount of votes and they will get 10 Rep Senators to go along with it. The 2A has been a cornerstone of Republican campaigns for as long as I can remember. Protecting 2A is equivalent to the Dems protecting abortion. Imagine getting 10 Dem Senators to go along with some pro-life bill. If they can't hold the line here, is it time to send them all packing and restart from scratch?

I realize such a move would give Democrats even more power, but honestly what's the difference. It's probably time to get this show on the road already, and stop boiling the frog.

And all the moderate centrists who just like voting Republican for low taxes and pro-business policies, but don't care about the liberty or social stuff, and have been delivering us these RINOs can go pound salt.

I switched to an Independent because I realized one day that neither the Dems or Republicans are looking out for any of us. So I wouldn't be surprised to see the GOP fold on any issue.

Dems are trash but most Republicans are garbage as well. It's tough to find good candidates to vote for.

If they are dumb enough to cave on this than obviously yes.

They won't.

I will never vote for them again.

I left jan 7th 2020...

Trump is a divisive personality but he makes common sense.

GOP lost its identity long ago...

They just slow down the Democrats...but the Democrats win

So are you not going to vote for R or D at all?

Independents confuse me worse than dems.

I have been let down by every GOP politician in my 47 years sans Reagan. Trump and maybe Rand Paul.

Screw that party.

If the Supreme Court mixes the 2nd, then they essentially nullify the Document which legitimizes there power. Then it goes back to the ‘drawing board’. People may not fight for their money, but they will damn sure die fighting for the souls of their children. The Dems are playing Russian roulette.

Get ready to be disappointed....

The GOP will cave in and negotiate 2A! Too many RINOs on the payroll for this not to happen.

And it will make the USA even weaker!

Only e GoP could screw up a once-a-generation wave election by caving against the base on an issue that polls 80+%.

Would t be a bit surprising.

Biden has tried several times to highlight the schism because his party, Presidency & polls suck.

He did so by saying that the R's were hijacked by Trump. And today he called turtle and gang reasonable republicans.

Turtle is retiring but has a replacement. He could care less. But other R's in red States care.

If they go too far we would all vote third party and hope someone good is running.

Yes.

IMO they have long since lost blanket support. There are many Republicans that do not deserve your support, even if that means a Democrat is elected. Each Republican needs strict scrutiny.

McConnell's disdain for Trump is greater than being a principled conservative.
