re: If so few people are illegally crossing the border, why the huge increase in ICE spending?

So we're counting on tens of thousands more people overstaying their visas?
You think everyone here illegally had visas? What are you going on about now? ICE doesn't only deport people who overstayed their visas.

You should learn just a little bit before you attempt voting the next time around.
How do you think the election would have changed if I voted differently? Do you think Harris would have won Louisiana if one more person would have voted for her? Or do you think Landry would have lost the governor's race?
You should really think yourself before wasting a bunch of words telling someone else how stupid they are. Your post makes no sense.

The "cancer" about to get sponsored and ICE proofed by their employees?

The fear mongering about naturalized citizens is silly in almost all cases.
I do think it would be completely healthy for the US to do everything possible to denaturalize and deport people like Ilhan Omar who may have obtained naturalization by fraud, who are not meaningfully American in any way and who support foreign countries/terrorist entities against the United States.

I’d prefer you just not vote at all, regardless of how well educated or informed you are.

It looks like people are implying tons of people will be overstaying their visas and that's why we need to triple ICE's budget.
Tell us that you don’t really believe everyone illegal in this country has simply overstayed a visa. For the love of all things….. tell us you do not believe everyone here illegally overstayed a visa.

Because there are upwards of 30-40 million people illegally residing in America.
ICE’s job is to deport people illegally here
They are not border patrol
Genuine question. Most numbers I've seen for the number of illegal immigrants in the US have ranged between 10 and 15 million. Where are you seeing 30 to 40 million from?

Assuming that each of the 20 million illegals released into the country during Biden's term got 10K in travel, housing and benefits that is 200 Billion dollars. That 8 Billion investment would have saved 192 Billion. That's a 2400% return on the initial investment.
how much was it costing us for them to be here

Because the government allowed them to come here on purpose in order to create a crisis so that the government could then tax and trample your rights as part of the solution to remove them.
If it was temporary, that would be great. But nothing with the government seems to be temporary. Once power is taken, it's never given back.
Although it pisses me off this entire thing was created by our own fricking government, they have to be removed.
So I just hope it'll be used for deporting illegals and then end one day(reduced greatly), even though that's never really the case. The border should get secured and then the need for them should disappear in time.
I'm not holding my breathe though. Probably end up just being another addition to the police state along with the other stuff like the data centers.

There were 10m illegal border encounters and untold numbers that flooded into the country undetected during Biden's administration. That's in addition to the efforts on multiple fronts to kick the can on other illegal immigrants who would have otherwise been deported, the entire bogus asylum apparatus, etc.
There are absolutely millions of illegal immigrants in the United States who should be deported, and the prior administration set up the situation to make it impossible to remedy without a massive commitment of resources.
This commitment of resources likely will not be even close to enough.
Needless to say, I don't think any of us are convinced by your pretending you don't see the distinction between stopping the incoming tide and dealing with the millions already here.

The claim is more than 20,000,000 illegals
The 12,000,000 number was used back in 2006, and probably earlier, and has consistently been used even through 2019ish. Biden paroled or let in millions more that we know about or suspect. Hence, 20M is not an unreasonable estimate.
Of course, many of the northern triangle crowd understood exactly how to not get deported, and that's to start dropping babies that are then US citizens. Those are not counted in the illegal numbers, but they end up on state and federal budgets alike.

Considering the quoted number of 12 million in the 90s and Biden's open border it must be up there higher

so if you plug the leak in the boat, you don't pump out the water?
wouldn't using 5 new pumps instead of one old one be more efficient?

We can pretty much count on this.

So they can deport illegals and people like you, who support the invasion? Or rather, deportations for them, camps for you.
Mmmkay? Make sense now?
