When Trump offered the NG for J6, nothing had yet happened. These two situations might be somewhat comparable if the J6 riots had lasted several days and after several days, Trump still didn’t order the NG.

Why did Pelosi turn down the request?

Because she wanted to make sure the proceedings were disrupted so no challenges would be heard. She wanted to seal the steal.

The question I have been raising is, why, as statutory Commander in Chief of the DC National Guard did Trump pay any attention to Pelosi? After simmering on this for a day, I think he had bad advice re his power with DC National Guard. Better advisors this time around.

Was President Trump lying at the 13 second mark when he said of January 6 that he "immediately deployed the National Guard?"

Their refusal was irrelevant, and he did deploy the Guard on January 6. See the 13 second mark, dumb dumb:

Trump did not order the guard in on J6th. There is multiple testimonies that state that including Mark Milley, Def Sec. Miller, Lt. General Walter Piatt (Dir, Army Staff).

Eventually, at 3:04 Miller (Defense) sent approval to Speaker of the House MCCARTHY.

Remember, new congress is sworn in specifically to record electoral college elections.

At 5:08 pm the DC Natl. Guard rec's orders. From Miller with McCarthy's approval.

Trump wanted the guard there. Pelosi refused. Miller even stated: "There was absolutely – there is absolutely no way I was putting U.S. military forces at the Capitol, period.".

Miller is the same guy who eventually issued the order, without talking to Trump on the combined authority of SoH McCarthy and his own.

ETA: the J6 Committee did their job well. According to the J6 cmte. Trump wanting the guard there was evidence he was planning an insurrection. Once the riot started and Trump did not order the guard in it was because he wanted the insurrection to continue and succeed. This is likely your source of confusion.

If the President can use his own judgment without local input (which is obviously true, Eisenhower/Little Rock, etc), why didn't President Trump go ahead and deploy the Guard in advance for crowd control on J6?

WOW!

You are a fricking idiot

You're such an idiot that you couldn't even pick the right event to compare it to. You chose Jan 6 instead of the BLM riots.

Im 100% certain this will go right over your head. Thats how miraculously retarded you are.

Newsom is Commander-in-Chief of the California National Guard. The Speaker of the House isn't even in the chain of command for the DC National Guard.

If it is federalized he is.

That's the thing about the National Guard, it is the state's until the Feds declare it theirs.

Sort of like when my sister used to take my Fruity Pebbles and proclaim it hers.

(solved that shite when I put epsom salt in it)

Emotions have been running extremely high around here for quite some time. Unfortunately, you will not get many (if any) serious responses to your question. My take is that Donald Trump basically organized and endorsed J6, so he did not want to crash his own party.

If local request unnecessary

It is unnecessary. POTUS doesn’t need a local request. See numerous examples in the Civil Rights era

He could have federalized the DC guard in 2021.
