It's fake. It's Iranian and Hezbollah propaganda.

They clearly came out against this action in the tweet in the OP and said they would assist with restoring it.

Lip service and an empty act.

Jews hate Christ and Christianity.

Why should we be mad about something that's not happening?

Publicly rebuking an IDF soldier isn't lip service.

We wouldn't consider that lip service if our own military branches did such a thing.

Wrong.

Jews defiling christ
Pretty sure that statue isnt Christ. Its a statue. I could see how if you were a person who thought it was a good idea to pray to, through, and bow down to statues it might get confusing though.

That isn't true at all.

The Old Covenant, made with the people of Israel, was real and foundational. However, it finds its fulfillment and completion in the New Covenant, established by Jesus Christ through His death and resurrection. This New Covenant is universal and open to all people, both Jews and Gentiles, through faith and baptism in Christ.

The Catholic Church teaches that the Old Covenant was a preparation for the coming of Christ and that salvation is now fully realized through Him. Therefore, while the Old Covenant was significant, it has been fulfilled and surpassed by the New Covenant in Christ, who is the way, the truth, and the life.

yeah it is. the theological framework was laid in Vatican 2 Lumen Gentium and Nostra Aetate, and the idea was later developed by Pope John Paul II in a speech in 1980 stating the Old Covenant 'has never been revoked'. This teaching was later formally included in the Catechism of the Catholic Church (No. 121), which states that the Old Covenant has never been revoked because God's gifts and call are irrevocable.

The old Covenant wasn't revoked, there is a new covenant too, ergo there are 2 covenants

The Old Covenant, established between God and the Jewish people, was indeed a real and divine covenant. It played a crucial role in salvation history and prepared the way for the coming of Jesus Christ. When the Church refers to the Old Covenant as being "never revoked," it means that God’s promises to the Jewish people were true and are honored in their fulfillment through Christ. God is faithful, and His gifts and call are indeed irrevocable.

However, the New Covenant, established by Jesus Christ, fulfills and surpasses the Old Covenant. Hebrews 8:13 explains, "In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away." This doesn’t mean that the Old Covenant is irrelevant; rather, it finds its fullness in the New Covenant through Christ. The Old Covenant was a preparation, and the New Covenant is the ultimate fulfillment.

As you pointed out (but misinterpreted), the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 121) acknowledges the enduring respect for the Old Covenant, but it also teaches that all salvation now comes through Christ and His Church. The Church is the New Israel, made up of Jew and Gentile, united by grace through baptism. This is beautifully expressed in Lumen Gentium and in the teachings of Pope John Paul II and other Church leaders.

So, while the Old Covenant has not been revoked in the sense of being invalid or false, it is fulfilled and perfected in the New Covenant. There are not two separate and ongoing covenants, but rather a single plan of salvation that is brought to completion in Christ.

Yeah. No shite a lot of people shite all over Jesus and Christians in general. Because Christianity has been neutered and watered down to the point where there's no universal outrage within the community when something happens. You'll see pockets of outrage..but it's never something that makes most of the community stand up.

For frick's sake, ISIS used to go from village to village torturing, raping and murdering Christians. Such vile shite that Christians across the world should've stood up and demanded justice for the victims. There was no universal condemnation and outrage within the community, though. Just pockers here and there. In my area, most of outrage was from people like me who aren't even Christian.
