CBP office was on Common St across from McNeese until hurricane Laura.
Yes, usually 2-4 tahoes parked in the median between Vinton and Sulphur.

Getting into interesting legal territory if ICE is stopping trucks that far from the border. Unless they’re “accompanying” state police/inspections.
They’re generally held to reasonable suspicion standards on searches more than 100/150 miles from the border.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) can perform its duties throughout the entire United States, not just near the border, as its focus is on interior immigration enforcement. While U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) handles border security, ICE investigates violations and arrests individuals within the U.S. interior. ICE operates nationwide through field offices, using specialized units to enforce federal immigration law, and can detain individuals anywhere in the country.
Shabby attempt, Reddit worthy, but nonsense none the less.

You’re the one making the assertion that ICE is in some iffy legal territory
Wrong. I think it’s interesting because someone will sue and say they’re over the line and I want to see how the courts deal with it. It’s not novel per se, but the scope and political nature of it is what I’d be interested in.

What are you basing that off legally?
The fourth amendment? Trucks can be stopped and checked for documents, weight, etc. without RS or PC. But they cannot be physically searched without at least reasonable suspicion (of course failing to have documents or whatever else would qualify as that).

I never disputed ICE’s jurisdiction, and I support their actions broadly.
I find the random searching of cargo nationwide for immigration purposes to be interesting legally.
No troll and don’t even disagree with you on policy most likely.

Its alright man we can make the commerce clause say whatever it wants nowadays
ETA: im half joking. Of course this couldn't be a commerce clause thing...but alot of things are that shouldn't be.

ame standards for a search apply to your car on the side of I-10 that apply to your house.
they are doing a simple license inspection - not searching anything
Thanks Chinese.
Intaf.....wtf are you talking about with amendments and nonsense. Have you ever been in charge of transport tractors across state lines??????
You stop at a weigh station, they check your CDL and your log. Before they EVER get to discussing your load, when it is apparent you cant speak english and are in violation of federal law in possession of a CDL, you call ICE and you are arrested.
They then call the carrier and tell them the rig is deadlined, you can pick up your rig.
Stop the nonsense. Three pages of it.

Are you talking about illegals, who do not have the same protections afforded citizens?
Posted on 2/11/26 at 8:00 pm to Indefatigable
So you are for illegal truck drivers killing yet more US citizens I suppose.

Sounds more luke US Border Patrol. US coastal waters and the Great Lakes are also border control areas.

Maybe this will free up the state police to shut down the 3 vehicle "IN TOW" caravans.

Kind of related: Has anyone noticed the trains of used vehicles being towed by hispanics across the country on I-10 has slowed to a trickle? I haven’t seen any lately. They must be laying low to avoid ICE.

Only someone that believes citizens, and illegals are equal would think this is a good point. Smfh.

Nice map. I was reading the thread wondering if anyone would tell that guy that the FL/GA border is definitely within the 150 mile distance since it would cover the sealine/ports.

Passed 3 sets coming back from Destin last Wednesday. 2 in Mississippi and one broken down on the shoulder in Louisiana. No hazards flashing at dusk. frickers are dangerous.
