I think part of it has the potential to be dumb depending on how it is handled. They're setting aside somewhere around $45 billion+ for the wall and other border improvements. Let's not get too carried away with ourselves and start seriously believing that this tiger has changed its stripes. That portion of the immigration funding will, no doubt, be ripe for waste and grift. They better have some damn good oversight in place and not go of half-cocked.
Factored into that equation is the success this administration has had with shutting down the border and stopping the flow of illegal crossings without new laws or billions of dollars more funding. They've shown what CAN be done with simple effort and a desire to uphold the laws we have. There will be no excuses if they somehow frick this up.
The most important aspect, which addresses the real bottleneck in our immigration system, is the new funding of ~1.25 billion for the immigration courts. We have too few judges and EVERYTHING about the process takes way too long. Again, they better damn well have an actual plan that efficiently injects that money into the system. In a few years we should hear no more about massive delays or it taking years for people to have court dates to resolve issues.
Everything is sunshine and rainbows when you're throwing absurd (to normal people) numbers up on the screen. At the end of the day, these are still the same people that have repeatedly shown how truly incompetent they can be.

I do believe in both, but the need to empower a large army is a bit ridiculous. As with everything in this country, we lack moderation.
Better to be prepared.
Having and not needing is always preferable to needing and then having to get congress on board to increase funding.

Is the total more than the pallets of cash Obama gave Iran?

This is insane in a good way. They better get to work in cities like LA, Chicago, and New York and absolutely go scorched earth with a fire-breathing chainsaw. I’m going to be disappointed if arrests and raids don’t amp up.

the bill caps the judge count at 800 by 2028.
There are currently 700 judges. This is no where close to what the US needs.
Now we need to send billions to Palantir mass surveillance illegals. Because it will only be used for illegals!

When you have to deport 30 million people you need an army - I can’t wait to see the Mexican groceries disappear from these small towns here in TN - hopefully we can get our culture back before the invasion
LMAOOOOO
What culture was that? Meth or oxy?

It's an insane waste of funding to scale up unnecessarily like that. Trump's prove. He can stop immigration with the existing laws and staff. Why does it need to scale up so tremendously?

Were suppressors taken off the NFA or was the NFA repealed or bATF defunded?

Well sure he can stop it. He can stop it easier with a fricken wall. The wall being completed will enable us to reduce border agents by 2/3. Do you know how much that will save? Here is what is expensive, the removal of all that are already here. You know this but avoid it like the plague.

Because Democrat frickfaces opened the floodgates and let MILLIONS of illegals in. You left us with a lot to un-frick.

For frick's sake......
Well, there goes any hope for real immigration court reform. An opportunity blown.

Best part of the whole fricking bill.

Do we really believe they will generate 170B of value?

ICE reduced South border crossings by 95% within 6 months of a new adminstration without passing major laws. Are those agents already getting re-assigned?
ICE did this with a $8 billion budget. What's the 3x increase for?

Are you even serious?
Stopping border crossings is one thing, but deporting millions of illegals takes a huge workforce. And we have at least 10 million that need to be deported asap.

Insanely stupid is leaving wide open borders and letting drugs and criminals pour in.

You do realize that all of the operations they've been running the last few months are blowing the existing ICE budget out of the water. To maintain this level, they have to significantly raise the budget.
