Can someone give me a single example of a case where “because racism” was used to oust a leader that has resulted in a legitimate initiative to better the community? It seems like every single time it’s the same story.

The definition of insanity comes to mind. How many times does this shite have to happen before some of you folks start paying attention?

This is basically what left is trying to do to the country, and we laugh at Mississippi, but it’s the same template...Trumps a racist, with not a shred of proof, just to put some crazy leftist in power. Should get the same results as here....

Yep

The city is a microcosm of our country if we elect a race baiting black woman(Kamala Harris!) president

What a mess.

A black town clerk was fired by a white mayor. The town clerk yelled racism. The town clerk's niece ran for mayor using her aunt's address in this town of 1500, while she has homestead in Jackson.

The niece wins the election. This happened a couple years back. She immediately comes in, starts firing everyone that did her family wrong, changes the locks on city hall, etc.

The city council responds by docking her pay to $200 per month. She's pissed and she goes rogue. Someone left some twine on a door handle and she said it was a noose and called for a federal investigation.

So here is where we are. The mayor is refusing to sign checks. Employees have not been paid. The electric company showed up to turn off electricity to the water pumps (a councilman negotiated a couple extra weeks, as this would turn off water to two schools and every home). Today was the third payday that city employees have missed. The U.S. Department of Labor showed up and she refused to meet with them.

The place chief got into a yelling match in the street with her this morning (video in link). He apologized, but you have to feel for his frustration at his employees not getting paid.

There was a special meeting called tonight to finally explore the fact that this mayor does not live in the city (nor the county) that she is the mayor of. The meeting was canceled presumably, because of all of the media attention.

Misspent?

You mean like they put it into education instead of public utilities?

Or misspent like fancy trips and high dollar alcohol and made up jobs for family members?

Stealing is stealing.

Mrs M. and I looked at an older home in Pelahatchie to renovate and live in back in 2009-10 but ended up off Hwy 80 in Brandon not too far from the high school.

Ironically we we moved back to Louisiana a couple of years ago and ended up in Clinton which has its own set of political issues and a crumbling water system.

We have a congressman from Georgia that actually lives in Tennessee and they've done NOTHING about it. The democrats can only lie to get wins, they NEVER stand on truth. The democrat in question is lucy "lawless" mcbath.

I hope the new mayor goes to jail for a long time

Drug forfeiture money is supposed to go to the corresponding law enforcement agency that did the bust. They put it into the general budget and used it for whatever. So it went to pay for legit stuff but violated state law because that is not what drug forfeiture money is supposed to do. You can't use it make up for budget shortfalls elsewhere than the police agency.

Democracy (majority, self-rule) is no better or virtuous than the collective (majority) wisdom of the populous. Take a good look at the 'collective wisdom' of the Majority. And kiss Democracy good bye. Unwise people - good intentions aside - go down. And they can take the wise with them on the way. That is where we are.

Can't fool God or Mother Nature for long.

It is more likely that the clerk, that was fired, was the one embezzling the money, if any stealing was being done... In towns this size, the clerk usually wields most of the power with very few accounting controls...

See this is the problem. You cave and let this bullshite happen over fears of the media. This problem is easily solvable. She is doing this so they’ll arrest her and she can be a martyr. Grant her the wish and tell everyone who has an issue with it to frick off

Until candidacy laws are changed that require you to prove you live within a district or city limits. I don’t mean have a residence for political purposes, but actually reside within. This kind of nonsense will continue.

Funny but my SIL got divorced last year and moved. So, she changed her kids to another school that was closer to where she moved to and within the district... Her oldest is a hell of a wrestler and before they would allow him to participate in the new school a "walk through" of her current residence had to be conducted... She said they even went through her closets... All to prove she had made a bona fide move in order for her kid to participate in sporting events at a new school...

Now, why is it not as scrutinized for politicians?
