I was truly amazed the GOP did not thrash the Dims during the last election cycle

until I read the idiotic statement from the “leader” of the La Republican party (LaGOP.com "Unity"), all but threatening a senior member of Congress who was just reelected with OVER 80% of the vote. This same member who overcame TWO "GOP party-endorsed" candidates and a four-term Governor to win the Congressional seat in the first place.

I can only surmise that the Dems have placed this moron in charge in La in hopes of further destroying the Rep party and the State. What a joke...

I love that he falsely attributed a classic idiom to Abe Lincoln

I don't have any dog in the fight when it comes to Louisiana politics but 2 observations:

1. I checked out the statement and I would hardly call it threatening.

2. Louisiana is NOT a red state anymore. Purple at best.

"all but threaten". I would contend he lays down quite a challenge against a very popular, skilled and smart politician.

Call it as you like, but La is pretty conservative.

Republican leaders never hammered the Democrats... Hence, no red wave. With all the crap on the border, foreign policy, economy, etc... We could have easily won, but Republican leaders did nothing. Just sat there with their thumbs up their asses.

This guy is just trying to legitimize his terrible choice in endorsing a shite candidate so early. The timing hasn't been the problem, you nitwit. It's the flawed candidates.

Uhh no. Every state that borders Louisiana is more conservative than it is.

Your two term governor, Latoya and Broome laugh at Louisiana being conservative.

Your two senators, Cassidy and Kennedy might have an R next to their name but they aren't conservatives.

You need to step away from the partisan politics my friend. They have turned you into a very toxic poster. Maybe turn off CNN and MSNBC for a while. I know it must have been a bitter pill to swallow when it was revealed that President Brandon had illegally possessed classified documents after he left the Naval Observatory and his term as VP ended, but it’s not the end of the world.

Our state Republican Party apparatus is a total dumpster fire, yes.

Unpopular opinion on here, but they're not to blame, they're hamstrung. The people to blame are the forefathers of the state of Louisiana (and Georgia) that had zero foresight and destroyed both of their demographics through greed. New Orleans and Atlanta are lost.

The dynamics of the two states are quite different, though, as evidenced by the 2020 presidential election comparisons between the two. New Orleans doesn’t drive Louisiana anywhere close to how Atlanta does Georgia.

They simply burrr the voting machines in those ‘lost’ cities. LA is easier to tip than GA.

True. Rural Louisiana is Red for sure. But BTR and NOLA voting blocs are stacked.

They aren’t, and will never be, big enough metropolitan areas to flip the state.

The “purple” states have booming populations in big metro areas. Atlanta, GA. Phoenix and Tucson AZ. Charolette, NC Etc.

New Orleans population is under 400k. Much of the metro NOLA area in surrounding parishes vote Red. Which is like another 800k- 1M

LA is losing people like crazy.
