What it looks like to me is that what is happening is that Trump is not being given a pass the way other Ruling Class members are. That's different than being "illegally persecuted."

It's like if a cop decides to follow you until he catches you speeding. He may have a personal reason for doing so, but if you were speeding, you were speeding. The "Everybody else was doing it too, but they only stopped me" defense doesn't work in actual court.

One could argue that targeting a citizen is illegal, but we're not talking about someone following a citizen until he makes a traffic violation in this case. We're talking about a guy who held a press conference and announced to the world what he's being charged with. In the case of the classified material, we're talking about a guy they have on a recording admitting that he knew he had classified documents that were not declassified.

And that's the problem with Trump. He thinks he can get away with anything, and part of the reason he thinks so is because of the Trumpanzees (I love that name) who pledge such undying loyalty to the man no matter what.

Sure, Hillary should have been prosecuted too. Sure, Nanci Pelosi should go to prison for blatant insider trading. We could go on and on. But none of the different treatment means that Trump is innocent, and none of it means he is being persecuted illegally. He's being treated differently, that's true, but there are so many incidences of citizens being treated unequally under the law I doubt he'd get much traction with that defense.

I amazed at how short the memory of the cult is. The man damn near shut the economy down for two years and spent money like crazy resulting in the very predictable inflation. He made Fauchi. He waged a trade war and taxed American importers primarily for the benefit of US multinational banks and corporations doing business in China. He imposed tariffs on all imported steel to get the union vote and to help Ross's buddies in the steel business. (How many cultists believed his crap about the Chinese paying the tariffs and all imported steel was really Chinese steel being run through the other countries?)
