Have you ever tried to contact him for anything? The emails and phone calls go unreturned until you contact someone that knows him and they are willing to have him write the letter for you. This was for a great project that everyone supported, yet he was too lazy to respond. If you don't believe me, try writing or calling yourself and see if your emails get replied to or if you can ever get ahold of anyone on the phone.
Wait are you serious with this?

I can’t even imagine how many jobs the Data Centers and Space X will be needed in terms of Electricians, Plumbers, Construction workers etc much less supporting businesses to feed, house these workers. Great career opportunities for young kids coming out of High School to get into the trades.

He's done some good things, but he's also done some pretty slimey bullshite too. I'm glad he stepped in and got Brian Kelly and Scott Woodward fired and helped recruit Wade & Kiffin and get the NIL budget up to par. I love that he cleaned up crime in New Orleans by sending in state police and the national guard. Getting his AG to root out corruption in BR and Nola. I love all of the investment and job creation that's going on. How much will the tax incentives cost the state? We'll see. Louisiana has always given away big tax windfalls over the years, not just Landry. Which is why our infrastructure is always decades behind. The state squanders the revenue. I hate that he canned the tort law reform, and doing it by going hunting at these tort lawyers big Texas ranches. I also hate that he and Billy Nungesser canned the Mississippi River diversion project after it took so many years to get funding and approved. I hate that he pulled a stunt like getting an out of state Tiger named Omar in Tiger Stadium to please a donor. I hate all of that RNC pandering he's done like with Greenland, and hiring a kid from North Dakota to be our WLF Secretary because she was Noem's scissor mate. He's a mixed bag for me so far, but he's done a lot in the first couple of years. I'd give him another shot, even if he is a cocksucker.

So why not one of the other 4?

1. Help get rid of a do nothing lazy arse football coach - Helped bring in Kiffin who’s taking names and pissing off the media and our competition:)
It's a bit early to be celebrating this. And in terms of state priorities, it should be toward the bottom.

2. Meta investment in LA. An injection of jobs and unheard of economic development in a poor part of our state.
This is great, but I think Entergy had more to do with getting that deal. However, the Landry admin did finish it. So at least some credit. But data centers are popping up all over the nation, so it's not as sexy as when it was first announced. Still, great for Richland Parish and that whole area.

3. Space X investment. Lawd. No words to describe. Largest rocket launch site on the globe!
Now this is an undeniable huge win, and I think Landry should get credit for it. Unlike data centers, there won't be that many rocket facilities built.
I am a little worried about coastal land loss and hurricanes affecting the facilities, but that's Elon's problem, and I assume he is confident he can handle it.

Nah I won’t vote for him again.

I'm not a fan but I would vote for him any day over a Democrat.

Yep
Trial lawyers are too powerful in Louisiana. Few can get elected as governor without kissing their arse.
And the Republican Party is rigged anyway so we get what they want us to get…. For reasons that they want- not us.
If you polled the republicans and conservative independents in the state, I would bet that the overwhelming majority would want stronger tort reform. But the party doesn’t want that.
It’s rigged

So, Louisiana wasn't competing against that handful of other places? Moron.

I've never seen the state this aggressive with big new projects. A complete turnaround. Transforming
We've been bitching and complaining for decades that Louisiana pushes investment and businesses away and suddenly we're getting hundreds of billions of dollars in investments from businesses and corporations, bringing thousands of jobs to the state, and yet we still have people here finding something wrong with it.
Some people will just always be miserable count.
I'm on record here saying that I hated Jeff Landry but I think I've been converted. I can't ignore the good he's done for Louisiana so far.

Hard to believe they just started shopping this around last week then.
Curious to know what sort of discussions his predecessor might have had with them about it, if any.

You will get you wish because he has dried up all the potential money that could be used to run against him and stifled any potential significant rivals.
Posted on 8/26/26 at 10:32 am to Da Sheik
The damage alone done by Democratic leadership in Louisiana through the years should be enough to never allow that State to ever return Blue again.
Only a Democrat could sit back and blame their failures of Katrina on someone else.

Right, $100 BB investments don't just happen on a whim.

We love our incumbents in Louisiana. Of course he'll get reelected.
