... in rural Alabama. There are signs on the doors “ID Required”. The ladies handling the process sat behind iPads where they scanned my license and verified my address. Only then was a ballot placed in my hand. Why is it so hard for other places to follow similar procedures?

Same thing here in Florida. Every time I've gone to vote I've always had to show my ID. My ID has always been scanned as well, it's not that hard.

Did the same here in Texas. Hell, I even brought my voter registration card. Felt good to be a law-abiding voter today!

I presented mine at the tobacco store. Saves me $2.50 on a five-roll of snuff. Oh yeah, they ask for it here in Ark. too.

me too, in Birmingham.

I've never understood the issue with voter ID. just seems like something tangible to fight over.

ETA: did you vote for Biden too?

You stupid racist.

How the eff are we supposed to cheat if you require a valid ID for this?

Sincerely,

here in NC we passed the law to require an ID. I honestly through it was a law until today they had multiple signs up stating the decision is held up in federal court. Until the ruling is decided, no ID required here. Bull schitt

It sounds like, at least according to this thread, this isn't as big of an issue as people make it out to be.

I grew up in a very rural parish in North La. The ladies at the voting booth knew me and my whole family (and I knew theirs) yet I still had to produce my ID before I was allowed to vote.

I had no idea I was being discriminated against.

And even if you don’t have your photo id you can cast a provisional ballot.

We need a federal voter ID law that requires all voters to present their ID as proof of citizenship for all federal elections.

Here are how laws concerning voter ID currently stand by state laws:

Right. Presenting ID to vote is so easy a caveman can do it.

People are stupid. Go to a bank branch. I know no one hardly goes anymore, but go visit one and hang out. It is basically the elderly and out of work bums going in there and you will inevitably see someone trying to draw on an account with no ID. And they will bitch and whine that it is their money and the bank has no right to refuse them.

I am going to guess all of these posters reporting in about presenting id aren't voting in areas known for being deep blue

Do you all have voter registration cards? Can you just show up at any polling place and vote?

People are convinced that minorities have barriers to getting an ID. Some of the things they think are barriers are cost of the license (like 20-40$) and their ability to get to the DMV (which should be handled by plenty of services, not even including public ones). That’s the majority of the ignorant out there.
