I picked the wrong time to look for an AR-15. ***Updated with pic on page 4

Long story short, my brother is a gun guy. I’m a sports guy. He finally talked me into getting an AR. After going to several stores today, I finally found a lower receiver and ordered a kit and he’s going to build me one. Democrats are the best gun salesmen. Looking forward to trying to find ammo now.
P.S. It’s already been lost in a boating accident sadly.

I've been waiting on a guy to procure what will be my newest Sig 1911 since March...
It's a bad time to try and buy most firearms really. I hear even Hi-Pernts are scarce.

Ammo is plentiful and there is no limit at places like academy. I just bought another 250 rounds for 21¢ a piece. Also bought the 8m3 fragable ammo for a bit more.
You can get the wolf (all I shoot feeds great) for 4.99-5.99 a box.
Bear Creek arsenal has the side charging handle. It's awesome. The charging handle pin is two piece. I picked up a spare and JB welded the Allen screen inside it. No need for a tool to field strip.
Edit: they do not float. Found out the hard way fishing the other day :(

whatever you get, do yourself a piston conversion on it. runs cooler, get an adjustable gas block, runs waaaaaaaaaaaay cleaner, etc, etc, etc.

I bought one for $500 just before the COVID panic. The same rifle now is $750 at least if you can find it in stock anywhere.

I grabbed one a week before July 4th. Simple Ruger, open sights, 223/556. Finding ammo was like a treasure hunt. Lol

Wait til you try to buy some common hand gun ammo lol.
A few weeks ago the big store I went to almost laughed at me. Said it sells out the same day it arrives.
Did a little research though and found one of the local tactical gun shop guys that had plenty of 9mm ammo.

Ponchatoula has Apocalyps sports. There must have been 25 vehicles parked up and down the road there today. I was shocked at the selection they have. I am headed there one day this week. I wasn't going to do it but now I feel I must get more than my hunting guns.
