I will say, I have to be a little bit critical of the way Trump rose to what was clearly bait.
His response should have been a clear, concise statement along the lines of:
“On Jan 20th of this year, I swore an oath to defend and protect the Constitution of the United States of America. In my capacity as President and Commander in Chief, I will continue to fulfill my oath to the best of my ability.”
Leaves them nowhere to go.
