Shows like Colbert, Maher, and Jon Stewart are not comedy shows.

They are the left's equivalent of the 700 Club: amen corner gatherings of the faithful who wish to receive the scriptural message in fellowship with other believers.

JOhn Oliver is the biggest twat.

His clip urging Trump to run and laughing hysterically is classic.

I have no idea what to watch at 1030 anymore. Was a pretty big Kimmel fan. The site of him disgusts me now. I cannot turn the channel fast enough when the news is over. I literally hear the first few bars of his song and grab the remote.
The View is even worse. I work from home and cannot stand the site of any of those brainless bitches.

Here's the thing about Johnny Carson. Everyone in the country would tune in to watch him every night. He knew that he was there to give people a laugh at the end of their day. When he got political, it was more in the fashion that he was the class clown making fun of the teacher. It was lighthearted. He never took it to the next level. People couldn't tell you if he was a Republican or Democrat because he wanted it that way. I continue to say that the country was never the same the day Carson retired. You can trace a lot of the divisiveness we see today back to that point in time.

Now there are no limits with politics. Everything is political because its a way to grab headlines. Just like I don't want ESPN to get political, I don't want late night talk shows to get political. I want to watch sports and I want to watch comedians because I want an escape from reality for a little bit.

Jimmy Kimmel hosted The Man Show FFS. What a dissapointment.

He has easily been the biggest disappointment to me. I don't watch late night shows anymore either. Screw 'em, I'm not in to getting riled up late at night. I just want light entertainment I can go to sleep to. Thank goodness for Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.

Spot on in my humble opinion. They have forgotten that their opportunity is a gift to entertain us. The old guard was grateful to have such a wonderful job coming from much more humble beginnings. This current group is so conceited that they actually think they are swaying minds. It is hilarious how the sports and media elites have gotten to this point. They all need a big lesson in humility.

It's thoughtful posts like yours and Fairhope's, that make it worth wading through so much of the banality on here.

Agreed, I had to drop the late night talk shows as soon as the change took place.

Started watching MASH 4077 reruns in their place, started from season 01, episode 01.

I regret Nothing.

Ferguson was so damn good. Superb interviewer as well. His book American on Purpose was a solid read.
