Without going through the proper training/military indoctrination, I think the vast majority of most men would have a difficult time pulling the trigger when it came down to it.
You really learn about yourself in that situation. I did rear support stuff and never had to but a buddy did. Our local guide attacked a guard in our compound and my buddy drew his sidearm did the Mogadishu drill. The company cleared him out in 3 days. The guide had eaten with us an hour before and dude just straight no hesitation just put him down. He was a networking specialist that kept our internet running.

I'm with you Jackie, he needs to go to Pendelton, Parris Isle, Benning, get on muscle milk for a few years, and get trained up..

America is a lost cause. He are living the fall of Rome. The kid could do a lot worse than fighting for a hopeless cause in a foreign land.

My grandmother's first cousin was a mercenary back in the mid 1970s. He went to Angola and got caught by the Cubans his 2nd day there and was eventually executed.

Don't bait me Smokey, I'm a full-on Q tard, yet one who doesn't think even if all the good sh!t comes to pass, it amounting to anything beyond buying a few more decades at best as a speed bump for America..
I'm a half glass empty guy, I think America is Ray Milland/Dennis Quaid in DOA.
The sooner folks accept Bannon's "the US is in managed decline" as fact, their sanity and heartbreak can get on board with the Elizabeth Kubler-Ross Stages of Grief model, the better.
Charles Murray 'Coming Apart', Pat Buchanon 'Suicide of a Superpower', David Schein 'Decline of America', Douglas Murray 'Death of Europe', Thomas Sowell's ' Barbarians Inside the Gates', etc..are must reads.
The ship has set sail. It's not a case of IF, but rather WHEN. 20 to 50 to 70 years max.
People don't fight for their rights any longer, thus their grandkids have a future date with a micro/nano chip, and a digital currency that can and will be fleeced easily.
The Book of Revelation needs it's actors and story to be acted out..it's a dirty job..but has plenty of volunteers.

If you are at peace with dying over there, give it a go. Not saying it will happen but that is a possibility.
If you don't go, I hope you aren't that guy that talks about that one time you almost went to Ukraine to fight Russians.

Pheasants and skeet don’t shoot back; Russians do.
From the tone of your post, you don’t sound like the type who would do well in that situation. And there’s no just up and quitting when you decide you don’t like it.
Stick to the video games.

Quite a few of our boys went and fought for England before we entered the war.

You don't have to go there and pick up arms to help. There's plenty of other ways to help once you get over there. I will say, be very careful if you don't have any combat experience. May seem like you just pick up a weapon and go, but you'll need some actual training to anything more than a liability on the battlefield.
The citizens there with no combat experience have two advantages: they're fighting for their lives, and they know their terrain.

I cannot stand Putin, I don't hate the russian soldiers, they don't want to be there anyway. I looked up plane tickets to Poland one way and it was about 770$. I don't want to die, but I also want to do something important in my life. My sister called me an idiot and said I would most likely die and it would be wasteful and wreckless.
I know, war machine, propoganda, blah blah, I Just hate seeing innocent people being killed and... Maybe I could even get a Ukrainian girlfriend, you never know :)
I’ll be as unbiased as I can be and that’s pretty easy because I have no ethnic ties to Ukraine or Russia. I had no issue with Putin doing what he thought and believed was right for the Russian people and for their country but when Putin decided his dreams of grandeur to reconstitute the Russian Empire included invading Ukraine he just became another narcissistic madman with nukes.
In the best interest of global stability… Putin gets his arse handed to him for being such a poor tactician. If Putin is stopped I can guarantee Xi will reconsider his Taiwan ambitions.

Admire your passion OP. Just remember: War is hell. Don’t watch a movie about it. Go read a book authored by someone who lived it. Then decide if you are still ready to make that commitment for another country half way around the world.

If this is your main goal, I have a better, safer, cheaper and no-lose option for you.
Instead of flying to Poland, fly to Amsterdam. Go to the Red Light District, and you will find your pick of Ukrainian (and Russian) girlfriends. Since it's taxed, legal and regulated, it's totally safe.
You'll come back a new man!!!

Just don’t get captured baw. Better to be shot dead than spend the rest of your life in a Siberian gulag.

You go right ahead and be bullet sponge….because that duck hunting and a bag of chips gets you qualified for about that in that Elites War!

I really did not know how I would react until I was in it. It took me 15 minutes. Someone was shooting at us and I was ducking behind a wall trying to figure out. Then I got angry and just fired back killing a man. My anger and rage saved me.
Then coming home took me some time to decompress and learn to deal with my anger.
I think everyone is different.
