As I have watched the last four years play out, I have come to realize that 2020 was a necessary evil.
2020 was the wake up call that many people needed in America. We needed to see what kind of evil we were really up against. And we saw that tenfold. We saw four years of an administration that has put America last. We saw an administration that has taken every single American citizen for granted, has robbed them blind and imported a brand new class of voters to replace them.
2020 showed us all that we have that fighting spirit. We saw the rise of a new and more awake conservative, who was ready to mobilize and fight back. We saw an awakening among independents and minority voters after four years of destruction by the left. Our movement grew, it became stronger, more diverse and more inclusive. The old Republican party died in 2020 and out of its ashes rose a party that is for the people, a party of common sense. We added powerful allies in RFK, Elon Musk, David Sacks, Bill Ackman, Nicole Shenihan, and Tulsi Gabbard.
The left and their depraved hatred of Donald Trump have alienated so many and instead of destroying Trump, they made him out to be a martyr.
They thought they destroyed him in 2020 but instead all they did was invigorate us to fight even harder for the choice to pick who we want as our president, which only made him that much stronger.
2024 feels different. The vibe check is definitely bigger than 2016 and 2020.
The momentum is on our side and we need to continue to do what we have been doing, which is to act like we’re 20 points down but talk like we already won.

People old enough to remember Jimmy Carter and what a cluster frick that was saw very similar things in Biden
I was there for the Reagan Revolution I see this is just the updated version of it
I get the energy from the young kids feels very much the same

Jimmy Carter set the Democrats back 20 years, hopefully this sets them back 50

i get it, there are some 'celebrities' who have come around. But overall, I'm not seeing anyone I personally know who has had the light turn on who didn't see it happening in real time.
When we have Michelle Obama stating in all seriousness that Kamala is out there taking on all comers, and that it's Trump who is 'hiding' when it's clear for anyone to see the exact opposite is true, I don't see how there can be any civility or meeting on common ground with these people.
I just don't.

Part II is always the darkest part of any trilogy before the heroes win in the end

First President I was able to vote for and there are some definite similarities.
And as I recall (I was young and naive at the time) the Establishment GOP didn't care too much for Reagan either. I'll never forget or forgive GHWB's 'kindler, gentler' crap. I know he had to set himself apart from his former boss, but dammit, that to me just wussified the GOP. And sure enough, Bush 41 was all on board with the DC uniparty machine.

The nation has suffered and a lot of Americans have suffered. None of that needed to happen.

To the informed observer, these statements that contradict reality are frustrating. When you consider the audience she is targeting, those that get their entire body of political information from MSM, it makes more sense. To them, they are presented an alternate reality: selective edits of Kamala sounding halfway coherent and people supporting her compared with statements of Trumps detractors. In that carefully curated alternate reality, Michelle’s statement is consistent with the everything else they see.

The disheartening part is we very nearly lost the country in 2020, duped by fake news. Most of the “conservatives” jumped the Trump ship at the first sign of trouble
They’ll do it again next time and we might not be so lucky

The Carter years were very different - I still believe that Carter was just an ill-prepared leader for the accumulation of corrupt alliegances that had morphed into the democrat party. Basically he was a good man in charge of an evil army.
In his later years, he has slid away from his essential goodness - being beholden to evil forces can do that I suppose. I have never held any personal animus toward the man Carter himself, but the organization he represented began to take off their mask of decency and has now revealed itself to be among the most evil organizations of all time - certainly the most evil to ever achieve any sort of power within the USA.
Trump - with all his faults - has the one thing that evil cannot influence - he is immune to any of their attacks - he cannot be controlled - he will dedicate his whole being toward getting this ship of state back on course. IF we can just support this new-found arousal of American Spirit long enough to get a couple of tenures of patriotic administration at the highest level, we may yet fend off this existential attack from the 'progstains'

I respectfully disagree. Sometimes Nations, like kids, sometimes have to learn lessons the hard way for it to stick in their brains.
Also, had Trump been President the last 4 years, he would have appointed no Supreme Court Justices. This term he will appoint 1-4. That is the true lasting legacy of a Presidency.

Thats so fricking dumb.
Did y'all really need 2020 to know we were spending ourselves into inflation and shutting down businesses would lead to shortages and other problems?

I'm definitely old enough. The difference between the two imo is Carter and his following were just ignorant but Biden and his following are just evil.

The left has proven again and again that there's no bargaining with them. There's no compromise from their side. It's demands, mandates, and attempts to dominate.
American spirit is the opposite of that.

Carter was a liberal, today's Democrats are progressives.
I have some respect for old school liberals, but absolutely none for Progressives.

The big money folks will always latch onto whoever has the power and leach off of them and use them for their own interests.
It’s going to take a special group of people to enter office to tell them to frick off and to do the job necessary. Our country needs its own Operation Hummingbird at this point.

The problem is that they set themselves apart, vilify anyone who doesn’t fall in line with their values , and then accuse conservatives of being totalitarians when we don’t comply . They are true psychopaths.

Which is how Republicans came to share Covid blame. We let them bully us into Covid legislation and bailouts because we were afraid of being called bad names.
