Some are independent contractors. Some do it for free.

Bondi and Kash Patel need to be on this instead of showing up on Hannity to blab about some street thug beaner throwing rocks. But they're not going to do that because that would actually address the root cause. I imagine they can't get all of their left-wing underlings in the Justice Department and FBI to commit to anything meaningful.

They're getting paid to protest, mainly college-aged kids. A couple of months ago there was a small protest of maybe 25-30 in Jena for Mahmoud Khalil. This was while school was in.
Fast forward to 2-3 weeks ago they rolled back into Jena with at least 5 chartered busses. There were actually some morons in the comments section on facebook where a video was posted of said busses arguing that they were not getting paid and to show them proof.

Protesting is a job. They are posted on job boards as organizers or such. Austin usually has a lot of them posted and while they tried to mask what the job is it is fairly easy to see they are for political activism.

What I love is the absolutely, well made, professional posters they always have on day one. Sure there are the hand-written ones but you can tell someone is paying for ALL of this.
