I fully believe that Mitch being open to Hunter Testimony is a warning to Mittens

Romney says that he would like to hear from John Bolton and would like to vote for that.
This is McConnell's warning to Romney: you want Bolton, we'll put Hunter Biden up there. Still want to vote for Bolton testimony?
I fully expect that Romney will back down after Mitch's comments and he will because he's a yellow belly coward.
McConnell doesn’t want witnesses. Romney does. I know who to bet my money on.

Romney knows that his political career is over if he votes for conviction, unless he uses it as a launching board to switch parties, which he very well could.

Switch to the party that crucified him when he ran for President?
Is he that much of a wuss?

They'd sell their souls for power.

Correct.
Mittens may hate Trump but he's still a GOP Senator and he would like to work with other GOP Senators and a vote to convict Trump makes him 100% toxic to the GOP and puts him on an island with other GOP senators as they will do everything they can to ensure they are not photographed with him.
Mittens will vote to acquit Trump in the end because that's too big of a baseline thing for party discipline, even for a Trump hater.
He's already at just 40% approval in Utah right now.

His political career would also be over if he switched parties.

Arlen Specter tried it. Didn't work out great for him.

Even the GOPe lined up on the right side during Kavanaugh.
Polling is even more on Trump's side now.
I cannot believe that anything will happen except a quick dismissal. The swamp will not allow itself to be exposed that easily.

switch parties,
He'd still be more of an outsider. Even if he voted to convict, he'd still be a square peg in a round hole unless he went independent. Either way, that would mean retirement for him.

Romney is a Soros puppet
Need him primaried and gone

Specter did it out of necessity.
He wasn’t getting re-elected as a Republican so he jumped. Then he got a primary challenge from Stesak IIRC, with the Dems trying and failing to bribe Stesak into pulling out.

Even his status as Mormon royalty wouldn’t save his arse if he did this.

All of the Swamp are wusses in that respect - they are all on the same team - politics is just a parlor game for them.
Trump upset that table - cards and chips scattered all across the floor.
He is the common enemy now - the crooks will stay together.
Dont trust a single one of them - if the impeachment vote were secret ballot, Trump would lose 80 - 20

Voting to hear witnesses does not mean he is voting to convict. This is just an anti Romney bias showing. Rand and a few others want witnesses too. Trump can still claim executive privilege to stop Bolton from talking if he wants.

Given the numbers, it is unlikely that either of them will be hearing from ANY witness that the other wants prevent

Is this a serious question?

shite. Put Mitt’s kid up there under oath. Isn’t he also an “expert“ on o&g in the former Soviet Union?
