Don't confuse "the most electable candidate" with "the most qualified to neutralize the craziness and return the country to its former greatness". Copy?

I can’t imagine cheering on political persecution.

You do you though.

My thought exactly

Can you imagine loudly supporting political persecution, censorship, weaponized government, war, propaganda, dark ops; all of the filth, crime, and chaos? and the lies it takes to do all of that?

what kind of person would do that?

Nothing he posted can be reasonably interpreted to mean he is cheering on political persecution.

100%. I support DeSantis but will vote for the eventual nominee, which will be Trump.

How?

Explain how I am cheering a political persecution simply because I don't believe that persecution is a compelling reason to reelect its victim.

You see comments like Jimmy's frequently enough to know it's not them misreading something. There is a reason they need to pretend that conservatives that don't support Trump in the primary are cheering/supporting the Dem's politicization of the justice system, and are happy Trump is their target.

This is Trump after campaigning for less than an hour in mildly warm weather:

Because just that simple statement with no further explanation leaves open the possibility that Trump too can win. In other words, the ideal setup would probably be “because Desantis can win and Trump cannot win, and here’s why….”

Ok fine, because Desantis can win and Trump cannot win, and here’s why….

The road to 270 will come down to a handful of states that have gone both red and blue the last few national / statewide elections. In no particular order:

Wisconsin
Pennsylvania
Nevada
Arizona
Virginia
Georgia

Wisconsin

Trump might rally some of the base here, but he loses the majority of independent voters. This was proven both in the 2020 election and the recent state Supreme Court race. He can’t win it.

Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania has gone blue a fair amount recently, with the exception of the ‘16 election for Trump. I mean, it went blue for Biden in ‘20 and for the brainless wonder vs Dr Oz. Granted, Oz was an awful candidate who barely lived in the state long enough to qualify for the election.

Nevada

It’s well documented Trump has some enemies here. Combine that with the last few election results, and I don’t see it.

Arizona

It appears that all of the folks moving from California and bringing their politics with them finally has tipped the state from being reliably red. Plus, it was well documented how poorly Trump did with independents and the Hispanic crowd in ‘20 here. Plus, Kari Lake, a Trump disciple got her arse kicked in a statewide election and is still crying about it. As well as cashing in. I’m sure she’ll write a book soon.

Virginia

Don’t laugh. While Reagan tried to warn us about the huge vote block of federal employees, Youngkin turned some heads winning recently. Even that being the case, I don’t see him campaigning for / helping Trump. He works for DeSantis though. Or maybe even himself if he enters the race.

Georgia

Where do I start? Once a solidly red state is threatened by how divisive Trump is. What a colossal screw up. Trump motivates and mobilized the Black vote who by and large are anti-Trump votes. And similar to VA, he’ll need the governor of that state, Kemp, to help him get across the finish line. Given the recent history, that ain’t happening. But, once again, he’d help DeSantis.

the completely unfounded political persecution, also unprecedented except in third world shiteholes, is from enemies who have already stolen one election and your civil rights and - look around you, trying to steal more of your rights, more of your freedom.

To pile on victims and support their corrupt and illegal oppression without full conclusive acknowledgement of that oppression and persecution is beyond what Americans would do.

Mass brainwashing is taking place. They control the media, have a secret police, threatening Americans regularly.

Popping off of your sarcastic commentary with no acknowledgement of what proven enemies to you are doing should be precluded by steadfast vocal resistance against those enemies and the usurpation they have perpetrated against YOU, every one of you.

Not standing against them is supporting them. Your sarcasm can wait until after you become a man and American

Is he?

Better in terms of actual governance…yes.

Candidate? Nope.
