What in the frick did you do to piss them off?

Only time someone so much as looked at me sternly was when I walked into my hotel room after a long day of traveling and forgot to take off my shoes before stepping into the room. I never had someone be rude to me in any of the almost dozen cities/towns I spent time in.

Japan is my second home, specifically Oita-Ken Kyushu. I love the Japanese “ inaka-country-rural” life. Very simple. A wonderful daily ethic that has a purity and simplicity that I miss.

The one area where we beat the living shite out of Japan is ENERGY. I do not mean oil. I mean Individual energy and enthusiasm for life that most young Americans exude. We are supa-genki. They envy us for our excitement for life and adventure and innovation . We envy them for their VISION of who they are. They understand themselves and they make no apologies while we are gripped by never-ending Progressive AgitProp that weakens us by design.

IDK, Japanese women have replaced children with dogs. If your restaurant is not dog friendly you lose a lot of business.

The last time there economy was considered to be booming was around 1990. It’s been sideways due to demographics and State intervention for almost 30 years. Where they have traditionally excelled has been personal savings, which is easy when you live at home 5-8 years after your career starts. They tend to start off with savings.

None of those things are true.
Japan has been struggling with a stagnant economy for 20 years.
They have some of the highest rates of suicide in the world with an aging population.
Their young people have essentially stopped even trying to date or have children because cost of living is so expensive.
It’s a fun place to visit, but the people who live there are super depressing.

Ramen is literally the closest thing to gumbo on the planet. Instead of making shrimp stock from heads / tails of shrimp they make pork stock from head / tail / hooves of pigs.

Instead of Okra and rice, cayenne and bread and sassafras they use scallions, cornstarch, eggs, noodles and peppers

Sushi is literally the closest thing to pizza on the planet. Instead of rolling out dough, they roll up seaweed. Instead of using cured meats as toppings, they use raw fish as stuffing!

Yeah they take work ethic to the next level. It’s expected for employees to come early and stay late.

People forget he basically re-forged from the ground up and then ran the country for something like a decade. It's weird to think about now.
