Bull. Elon is just using that as cover. If that were true why would Elon be threatening to dismantle SpaceX in retaliation? Has everything to do with EV subsidies and government contracts (possibly NASA cuts as well).
Now I do believe what really brought him over the edge (and pissed off a lot of MAGA supporters as well) was watching Trump hand out pardons like candy to some of his most inconsequential supporters out there (relatively speaking).

uhhhh, Elon promised a trillion in DOGE findings. He was called out about that by the Treasury Secretary, and then Musk shoved him, in the oval office, in front of Trump

Even better, the Left hates him. They key his cars that people buy and torch his dealerships. Does he think this is going to make conservatives more inclined to buy his cars?

It's really simpler than that. Trump and Musk were just using each other. Trump loves being round famous, wealthy people, and could let Must turn DOGE loose to give the illusion that Trump was actually interested in cutting back on government spending. Elon wanted to be a player in the American government, while trying to influence policy to favor his investments and contracts.

I’m of a mind that this is a huge possibility. I believe Trump, Elon, Bessent, Powell, etc are in fact game-tight, and have a plan.
Though I will add that I’m continuing to prepare as though this is pure bullsh*t.
