There’s no worthy compromises to be made with current Democratic leadership.

The only one I could see getting some Democratic support would be changes to stock trading for sitting members of Congress and not allowing Congressmen or women to take work for lobbying firms or interest groups for at least 4 years after leaving Congress. (Neither of these would pass, either.)

Democrats have problems with basic reality. If you cannot admit there are only male and female sexes, you’re too far gone to come back.

If progressive/liberals are a legit 20% of the electorate, I'd be shocked. They've been able to game the system to their benefit to create the illusion of parity where it does not exist.

Liberals are out on an ideological island and no one wants to visit there.

The more people realize how many lies their government has told and how much fraud and anti American behavior has taken place at the higher echelons of government the more people will go back to the love of country mentality we had in the 70s where both parties may have disagreed but they agreed on country.

Too many people have been conditioned to hate the country and have no moral compass. We are not talking about blind loyalty, but simple honesty. No country has done more for the human condition than the USA - FACT.

Sadly, since the 60s the pace has quickened in the demise of the country and the leaders have f@cked us with policy, greed and power.

Far from perfect, no country ahs the Bill of Rights, the only thing that kept us from complete ruin.

Shrinking the government is a must and talk away the teat that feeds the corrupt.

When people can see it plain as day even the most staunch idiot will see the light.

this goes far beyond politics. This is no longer about differences in opinion.
Democrats are just disgusting. The fact they couldnt acknowledge a child that survived cancer because he was a guest of Trump's shows what democrats are really all about. They should all be truly ashamed of themselves over that. There is no turning back, we are who we are

I am shocked at how quiet my social media has been today. I work in higher education and therefore have a lot of contacts who are very left and HATE DJT and anything associated with him. Many of them post multiple times a day bashing anything and everything about him. Not a peep today. I think even they know that the behavior of the DEMS last night was beyond the pale. One of these people who is a college faculty member posted a rant last week saying she could no longer be social media friends with anyone who supports the MAGA agenda and even those who are silent and not speaking out actively against it. One of her students roasted her and said he was disappointed in her respone. He called her a hypocrite saying that he learned about the value of exchange of differing ideas, intellectual freedom, free expression of thought and speech in the classroom at their institution (a small liberal arts college). She responded saying she was sorry to have disappointed him and actually took down the post. They have lost it all and they know it.

30-40-30; 40 being the left/right off center
The current spread is likely 30-5-35-30 imo

I posted something very similar and received 4 down votes. LoL... There is zero chance of compromising with folks who refuse to accept reality and live in an upside down world.
Folks keep using the term "liberal" to describe Dems, they are far far away from liberal.
Liberals 40 years ago still loved the US and weren't actively seeking to destroy it, destroy it's statues, and teach a bastardized version of our history to children in school.

Roughly 70 percent of the population approved of Trump's message last night.

I think I read that on a previous thread on the pb.

Proving of true, that you can get most of your news here.

If this is true, this was the most liked speech in a while u would think. No doubt it was Trump's most approved of ever.

I’m not reading all that, but it’s not a 50/50 split. Half the country doesn’t even vote.

-Not true, he "balanced" the primary spending budget not the federal interest cost. And this was only accomplished because the cold war ended and military funding was slashed. You can thank Reagan and HW for that.

quote:

Trump is the one trying to take over Greenland.

-Not true, this was a minor topic in passing with no action taken. Trump has actually paused funding in Ukraine, halted funding to USAID, and negotiated a ceasefire in Gaza so we could stop funding BOTH sides of that war.

quote:

hat exactly is your question? Transgender people and name changes have been around for longer than it has been a political issue.

-No question. A trans woman is not, and will never be an actual woman. We are not going to spend tax payer money to perform elective sex change operations on these mentally ill people or add a 3rd bathroom for them in every building.

quote:

No one has increased the power of government more than conservatives.

-Trump and Musk have gone to war with bureaucracy and are slashing federal agencies. This will greatly reduce the government's power.

quote:

The majority of welfare recipients are employed full-time.

-Not sure if this is true (probably isn't), but either way, they must not be able to provide for themselves if the government is needing to... provide for them.

quote:

Now you're just projecting.

-Yes, this was an opinion.

quote:

Democrats want a strong middle class, which has historically been the fabric of America. You don't even know what communism is.

-No, they dont want a strong middle class. They want to subsidize the lower class into the middle class so there can be 2 classes, the ruling class and the working class. This country needs a strong class of small business owners, but they are beaten down by corporations, burdensome government regulation, and painful overhead and taxes.

quote:

We are.

No, they tell you you are, but you are not. The largest monopolies the world has ever seen have risen in the last couple of decades. Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Tesla. All tech darling of the democratic party until they became too large to handle. Funny how they all started on the west coast and donated heavily to the dems. Bill Gates is still very chummy with the dem elites.

quote:

Nancy Pelosi, the Clintons, and anyone else can do whatever they want with their money as long as they pay their fair share in taxes. As for Epstein, find a new conspiracy theory.

-No conspiracy theory here. Clinton knew his way around epstein island and Epstein didnt kill himself. Funny how all of these middle class supporting politicians become billionaires, move to a gated community on the California coast, and engage in the elite lifestyle they used to condemn.

I guess you tried to sound smart, but you're actually just arrogant. Typical democrat, thanks for proving my point.
